Hi all!

A V&V fan from way back, just getting back into V&V again.
Over the past ten years, my other games have been:
The Fantasy Trip (& Legends of the Ancient Worlds)
D&D 3.5
Savage Worlds
Star Wars Saga Ed
Dark Age Cthulhu

V&V was one of my "big three" back in the day, along with straight Call of Cthulhu and Middle Earth Role Playing (using Arm's Law/Spell Law) so it's good to be back.

I'm a big believer in the "if you can't find someone to game with, grow your own" school (even though I now do both) and I'm hoping to recapture some old magic by starting a V&V campaign with my kids.

Cool. Did he get his degree before or after writing two of the all time best V&V adventures of all time!

Welcome, Lord Inar!  I'm of the exact same school of thought on that.  When you start an awesome game, people will come and stick with it.  Our current V&V tabletop game started out with me and 3 others.  The other three aren't there anymore, but the campaign has continued.  The group has been as large as ten (with others wanting to join, but we just were too big), and quite a few of those have been gaming in this group for 18-19 years.  Now there's even a few of our kids that have joined in.

Very cool.  One of my V&V players is a Dr. as well (pediatrician).  When you get a chance, Dr. Dedman, let us know what you got your doctorate in!

I'm not Dr. Dedman, but I'll chime in! To paraphrase an old favorite cartoon of mine, "I'm not a real doctor, I'm just a Ph.D."

Ex-biochemist here, myself.

Welcome Lord Inar, I started playing V&V with my kids about a year ago, and it's been a lot of fun.  We spend a lot more time together, either playing or just talking about playing and what's going on.  They've started bringing friends home to play, as they talk about their adventures at school, and kids get interested.

My oldest son has even started a little of his on GM'ing... I'd recommend it to anyone.

We had openhouse last night at my kids school, and my 9 year old had written a story for his class.  I was very impressed by his creativeness,.  He wrote about a super powered bear with an electrified axe whose arch enemy was a giant snake.  Did make me wonder what his teacher thinks about where he gets this stuff.  Grin

Thank you!

Actually it is the little picture the very first issues of White Dwarf used at the end of articles (long before it became a GDW exclusive magazine.).

New to the forum. Glad I found it.

I run some V&V on RPOL.net. I have not played face-to-face V&V since about 1986, but love the game.

Hi everyone. Started playing V&V in 1982-1983, and was obsessed with it for about 5 years. Haven't played in a long time, but am slowly reacquiring my taste for the game. Finding this forum was a Godsend, and have spent the better part of 2 days neglecting my job while feverishly reading up on all of the threads I cram into my brain. I can't believe almost 27 years have gone by since I played Death Duel or Crisis. I've been playing a lot of D&D throughout the years, but I cut my RPG teeth on V&V, and feel very much like the prodigal son finding his way home.

I've been very impressed with the intelligence (gaming and otherwise) as well as the respect everyone shows one another on this board. I'm very happy to be here, and look forward to adding my 2 cents to the discussions as soon as I feel that I am up to speed.

It's awesome to have you here, Frezdc3!  I was just thinking about how much time has passed myself, as we first picked up V&V about the same time (late 1982 or early 1983).  Hard to believe so many years have gone by.  The game is still amazing, and it's cool seeing so many people come back to it again!  Welcome aboard!    Smiley

Hi all!  Just found this board, and couldn't stop myself from joining.  I never post on message boards, but this time I will make an exception.  I am an old V&V player from way back as well (82-89).  My friends purchased the M&M game recently, convincing me to play it, but my thoughts keep going back to V&V and how much I loved it.  I must be obsessed!  Grin

Woohoo! G7 Rocks! Glad to see you back.

I haven't been on nearly as much as I used to, work is killer.  They cut jobs and spread the job duties without touching the pay... looks good on the books, but it's wreaking havok on the employees.

Hello all,

I played a lil V&V with Frezdc3 back in the day and he turned me on to the board.  Great stuff.  Now I get my superhero fix with CoH, but love anything V&V.
