Original Villains and Vigilantes 1979 Book
Jan 27th, 2010 at 12:18am

Hi all,
I used to be big into comics and RPGs, and I have an original 1979 V&V book in VF condition.
I was wondering if anyone on the board was interested in it.
I'm not really looking to make a big profit on this, but make me an offer if you are interested.
Titan, my size changing mutant with invulnerability, thanks you.

What do you consider a reasonable offer, as my copy has seen better days.

I've purchased a couple in the last year, e-bay from 5-12 dollars, the twelve dollar one came with a box set and two modules.  My brother bought two new ones online, I think 8 bucks, comes with a GM screen... Still a great value after all these years.

Guys, it's important to note that befranklin is not just talking about an ordinary, green 2nd Edition rulebook (which can be found anywhere).

He's talking about a 1st edition, white 1979 rulebook, which are very difficult to come by.  Granted, there's not much need for one (as nobody plays first edition), but it's still kind of a cool thing to have and look at.  I picked up mine years ago when I was out of town and visiting an old game store.

I've got one, but it's pretty beaten up, that's why I'm wondering what he wants for the one he has.

I'm in the same boat as Dom.  I've got one, but it is pretty bad condition.  I wouldn't mind getting one in better condition.

I actually stumbled across a treasure trove of V&V goodies at my fav game store, Including a mint condition 1st edition rulebook. Still has the original character record sheet, powers chart, and errata sheet in it as well. I picked it up for $8.00. No I am not offering it for sale.

Yep, Guardian Games in Portland. One of the owners plays in my wife's gaming group on Wednesday's down there. As soon as she found out I was interested in the stack of books she pulled them off the shelf for me and said I could buy them as I had the money. I have my own spot behind the counter now it seems! I didn't pay more than $8 for any single book and they were all in mint condition. I picked up Most Wanted 1 and 3, Devil's Domain, Alone Into The Night, Super Crooks and Criminals and Crisis at Crusader Central. All of these have their original counters, uncut, still stapled in the center.

That's great when you find stuff in excellent condition like that, and as the years go by it'll get harder and harder to do so.

Hey Drosta, you should think about coming up at the end of June for GuardianCon.  If you're near Portlad you're only about 3 hours south of us, and we play lots and lots of V&V for a whole weekend!

Got a website for that con, I would have to check the dates to see if I have that weekend off or not. I get one day off every two weeks generally. I am headed to GenCon though for the first time this year. My wife and I are headed there for all four days of the con.

You guys should try and make it down for O.R.C. 2010 later this year (I haven't set a date for it yet or booked a location).

I don't think our website guy has done this year's website yet; I'll see if he can get it going.  The dates are June 24-27.
