After a volcanic eruption in a previously extinct volcano in northern Norway, an amateur photographer captured the image of what looked like a dragon in flight.  Several people confirmed that something had swooped out of the sky and snatched up livestock.  CHESS Sent Channel and  Louis Cantrell, aka the Loup Garou to investigate.
    They met up with Professor  Hadir  Aasen a professor of Norwegian folklore.  Aasen and his daughter; Gudrun, had the two agents stay at their home.   The Professor was an odd sort,  small and stocky with a big bushy beard.  His daughter was tall and pale.   He explained that the volcano was home of Fafnir The Great.       He awoke recently to feed.  Channel had carried with him the Hammer of Thor.    While enroute to the volcano,  Channel become possessed by the spirit of the mythical Thor and battled an image from a campfire who clamed to be Loki.   It was found out that whomever held the hammer would become Thor, As Loup Garou also became Thor for a bit.   The two were attacked by Werewolves who called themselves the Sons of Fenrir.  A talking Squirrel who  spoke to whomever held the hammer said that Thyrrm, the Ice Giant as awoken, along with  Fafnir and he intends to cover the earth in Fimbulwinter, that is  the last winter that will blanket the earth.
    The Sons Of Fenrir  interpreted this as Nuclear Winter and wanted to capture nuclear devices to invoke  the world into a nuclear war.   They thought that if they provoked  Fafnir into attack the USA,  they would retaliate with Nukes.   
      Channel and Loup Garou managed to fight the Sons of Fenrir with the help of  Circus Dwarves who turned out to be real mythical Dwarves hiding in plain sight.  They drove across the frozen North Atlantic,  battled Giant Winter Worgs and destroyed a walking giant frozen zombie of  Thyrrm.   They recovered his Axe and they placed the Hammer of Thor,  Thyrrm’s Axe,  Thor’s Gauntlet and his Oroborros Pendant into CHESS custody.
    After the many distractions,  Channel and new recruit Mr. Impossible and CHESS occult expert Sally Nile, went back to investigate Fafnir’s  Lair.
