sorry if it is unclear....

people have made comic conversions in which

cyclops was level 18
havok was 15
nightcrawler was level 12
mister fantastic level 20
thing level 20
invisible girl lvl 18
submariner lv 22
captain america lv 20
luke cage lv 10
spiderman lvl 18

so how did people come up with these?  or was it just a random thing?
or was it number of appearances in issues times x amount of xp?

I'm basing it on the levels Jeff and Jack assigned to there comic conversions, and the length of time the character has appeared in comics. That and making my best guestimate.

Perhaps I will use between 250 and 500 xp per issue that they have been in.

well.. i suspect that I will  try my hand at conversions since I enjoy everyone elses so much...  I will most likely start with excalibur, the new warriors, guardians of the galaxy and the aqua teen hunger force...unless someone gets to them first.

Go for it.  I am looking forward to the Guardians of the Galaxy.    By the way, which team are you going to do?  The current team or the classic team from the future?

Oddly enough, through AD&D.
V&V obviously owes a debt to AD&D in the Level mechanic.
Many big heroes of legend land around 20th level in the Dieties and Demigods tome.

If you place the FF (the Marvel universe's big epic heroes) at 20, you can extrapolate the rest from there.

interesting... I would figure you guys old enough to not have d20 as a reference point.  I guess that explains it though, because my reference point could also be 1st edition ad&d thus 9th or tenth is when most characters hit the really cool level when they get name level rights...

But I also figured that number of appearance = gaming sessions with a set number of xp thus spiderman would be so much a higher level than fantastic four.  He seems a  bench mark though for me... He has faced everything and everyone, and wins fights he shouldnt because of that.

ok that did sound bad sorry...

with d20 you can typically only go to level 20 as a max level.
