Exiles

I just finished reading up to issue 24 of Marvel's Exiles, the first one.  I have to say, it was a fun read.   Winnick's strength is in his characterization, not his plots.    And the best part is, you barely need to know Marvel History, as this fills you in as you.   The plot is pretty simple,   Six people are displaced by time and they pop up all over the multiverse fixing things that are wrong, then pop to the next problem.   The Time Broker  is the Deus Ex Machina that pops up to send them on their mission.  Characters die,  characters fix their timeline's problem and then pop out of the comic, to be replaced by new characters.  Its, as you can tell, X Men centric, but they have fought Galactus,  an evil Iron Man, Dr Doom, Sub Mariner,  evil Xaviers, Sentinals, and even a good Sabretooth.
It's a good light read.  Anyone else give it try?

I have read the first 2 graphic novel collections of it.  It truly made Mimic and Morph into remarkable characters!!

V&V character creation is too much fun.

I usually don't like zany characters like Morph, but I have to say, he grew on me.

I was thinking of this comic as a V&V game with all the Exiles as players.  When one died,  the player rolled up a new one, and blamo," I have become displaced in time..."

And this is the only comic where teh GM regularly shows up; The Timebroker!

What DC characters would make good Exiles, you know, who is displaced in time?

Powergirl, obiously.

Linda Danvers, Matrix Supergirl.

The Shazam Family.

Plastic Man

Fury and Silver Scarab

Harlequin, The Joker's Daughter.

Jason Todd.

These guys could do for DC what the Exiles do for Marvel.
