Happy Christmas!
Dec 25th, 2009 at 1:46pm

I am not really a religious person, but I do so love Christmas (and the fact remains christmas was originally the celebration of the winter solstice, not the birth of Jesus, as that was not in December).

So, having said that....

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

Merry Merry Christmas!!

And I am a believer (DUH!) and it seems Jesus would have had a VERY memorable birthday, according to one Biblical scholar (or group of same): September 11th!

See here: http://www.truthortradition.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=467

Wow - I did not know THAT!

Well - enjoy thy turkeys and trees and (if it helps anyone) Mary was told she'd give birth to Jesus in December (according to scholars). And if you believe life begins at conception... Wink

Well, either way, I'd call that a pretty inspiring Christmas gift! HAH! Cheesy

hmmmm...

Got to run - some reindeer are eating my leftovers!!

Or is it a small dog with antlers?

Thank you for sharing that Justice  Smiley

I was curious when Jesus was actually born.  I knew it was closer to summertime, but wasn't exactly when  Smiley

Hope the reindeer didn't eat all your turkey!!

Naw - JUST rescued it! Wink

And as Santa said to his sleigh-pullers:

"And I have ONE WORD for to say to all these complaints:"

"Venison!"

Cheesy

So what good geek stuff did you get?

I got a collection of the Flechier Superman cartoons that I aways wanted.  A copy of Spirited Away.   And  the World of Steve Ditko.   A pretty geeky Christmas! Smiley

What about your anniversary present from me of Voldemort's Wand from the Noble Collection????

I'd say that's pretty geeky.

the only geeky thing I got was what I bought myself which of course was Neville Longbottom's wand (now have Harry, Dumbledore, McGonagall and Neville's) and the quill used by Umbridge for detention.  John says he thinks it really would work if I had an inkwell.

Curious... very curious.

I've heard Jesus was born sometime around April, as that was apparently the time of year the shepherds were "guarding their flocks by night".

[shrugs]

For Christmas, some geek stuff I got was:

Seasons 4 and 5 of LOST (completing my collection)

And the Ultimate Edition of Watchmen (has the director's cut longer version of the movie with the Tales of the Black Freighter intercut within it as well as the entire motion-comic).

Nice haul! Mind if I enquirer as to where you picked up all the mags? I've got photo copies of most of them, but I'd still like to get my hands on some original copies.

All of the mags except the Dragon mags were found on eBay.

I found the Dragon mags at different places: The Dragon's Trove, COAS Bookstore (www.coas.com), and eBay
