Okay, a couple of you have asked about getting some commissions done, so I figured I'd list some of the guys I know of, or have dealt with. In no particular order:

Matthew "Matt" Plog - He's done work on the the Battletech Tech Manuals, other games, commissions, and some comics. He doesn't have a website, other than his Deviant Art page, but he takes commissions through direct contact. His email is - matt_plog@hotmail.com

Storn Cook - He's done a ton or RPG work, as well as lots of commissions - www.StornArt.com

Darren M. A. Calvert - Lots of RPG work, and some very cool superhero designs for the M&M line of books. - http://www.darrencalvert.com/

Ramon Perez - Lots of RPG work (especially for M&M, Palladium, and a few other companies, plus lots of comic stuff. - http://www.ramonperez.com/

Jeff Dee - Need I say any more? - unigames@io.com

Jamie Faye - Jamie's a comic artist I've know for a few years now - http://windriderx23.deviantart.com/

Universe M - Great guys. They've done work for a couple of RPG companies, and are big into City of heroes, RPGs, and comics - http://universe-m.com/

Third Rail Design Lab - More good guys, who are into comics, and the old Marvel Superheroes RPG. - http://www.thirdraildesignlab.com/

Ed Northcott -Ed's a Canuck, but don't let that stop you. He's a another good guy who's done plenty of RPG work (including designing the look for a lot of the characters for Silver Age Sentinels RPG), and artwork for the Degrassi the Next Generation comics.

Mike Leeke - Mike's the former artist for Comico's Elementals, the HARD Corps, and several other comics. You can reach him at - mdleeke@aol.com

Joe Singleton - Joe's the artist for Ad Astra, Hero Blog, Artistic License, and several RPGs. You can hit him up on Face Book, http://adastracomic.com/ or his Deviant Art page - http://joe-singleton.deviantart.com/

Alex Williamson - Is the artist for the Brass Falcon Comic I posted a link to, and a few RPGs. So if you're interested in getting a piece of artwork from him, you can reach him at - http://www.brassfalcon.com/contact-us/

There are plenty of others, but I've got to look up their contact info.

This is great info - thanks for posting it, D!

I was going to post earlier that anyone looking for a characte should be able to find what they want over on the Art Thread, since there's so many incredible images there.

But we all know how cool it is to design a character yourself and then see a truly talented artist bring it to life!    Cool

What do you charge for sketches, say black & white, inked, and colored.

Rates always depend on the depth of the work. Character illustrations at $50 BW/inked,  $75 with Color. If someone gets color, I'll throw in the BW.
All this is contingent on me being able to do the work when someone asks for it. I won't accept blind submissions and payment without dialogue and my acceptance of the work. I want to be able to allocate the appropriate amount of time and attention for anyone's money.

Do you happen to have a gallery, or a few sample pics you'd like to post?

I've got a few to suggest. I've gotten art from all 3 in recent weeks.

First up is Kris Smith. He's done art for Cartoon Action Hour: Season 2, but he's been doing supers art for me. He has a DeviantArt page here

Jess Jennings. He did the art for Radioactive Ape Designs supplement for BASH/ICONS, ION Guard. His page is here

Dan Houser. He's done work for BASH, and is also the artist for the rpg ICONS. He has a portfolio here

All 3 have very reasonable rates (between 15-20 bucks starting price). I've gotten commissions by all 3, so I can vouch for their reliability.

Thanks for the heads up, as several people have asked me about having character portraits done.

Your welcome. My avatar image is one of the Golden Age super heroes Kris Smith did for me. I posted another in the art thread as well

Another good artist I've been working with is named Russel Boyd. He's done are for a release called Bad Sports for the rpg Supers!

I don't think he has a site up yet, but he has a thread on the BASH rpg forums with samples of his art. The later pages have his more recent work, which is better than the initial stuff in the thread. Check it out here

Not to mention his now legendary work producing and writing the Grand Theft Auto video game series.

Another artist I've been working with is Ade Smith. He's the artist who did the image of Brawler (who I use as a character in John's vigilante game). He's been doing a lot of art for various companies of late, such as Basic Action Games, Fainting Goat Games, etc, for the rpg's BASH & ICONS.

His deviant art gallery is here, and features stuff he's been doing for BASH, and some stuff he did for Vigilance Press.

Like the other artists I've mentioned, his price is fairly inexpensive (20 bucks for a color image), and always sends them as 600 dpi jpeg files (though I'm sure he'd do other formats if requested). He's been doing a bunch of Golden Age style villains for me, but as you can see from his gallery, can do modern characters very well

Also,

for anyone who liked the art in Zenith Comics Presents: Supervillains vol 1, the artist for that book (Anthony Green) is taking commissions. He's been doing some pieces for me as well. PM me for his email address.

Wow I really like Kris Smith for this character I'm playing I'm a tabletop group in Indy, and very tempted to see if Jamie Faye would beinterested in an idea I have for a character in Dom's campaign

I see if I can get Jamie to hook you up, but he's been busy working on a couple of comics.
