Regional Super Teams

My players have expressed an interest in super hero teams in other cities. Of course my campaign is currently based in Portland Oregon, what about some of your teams? I think it would make a cool addition to the wiki if we listed team rosters for various cities around the world. Perhaps we could come up with a crossover event for a con even? I could see bribing some of my players into attending the next GuardianCon in Seattle. Maybe we could also get some Seattle (or other city) players to attend Gamestorm down in Portland?

Do you want actual groups currently in play? Former groups, or do you mind if we create groups, as I've got a few old characters sitting around, that I never did anything with.

Any or all of the above sounds good to me, this will help flesh out the world for my players and if anyone needs a supers team that happens to reside in Portland feel free to use my campaign as a starting point.

OK, while these aren't teams, I figure someone can make use of them. They're really just rough outlines for characters, and GMs can feel free to customize them to fit their particular campaign.

The Guard

The Guard's a DC based super team that operates in the DC Metro, Northern VA, and Southern MD. It's current line up consists of five members, and is lead by electrical welding armored hero, Taser. The team's second in command is the former actress, and full time heroine, the form changing Shift. The rest of the roster's filled out by, Maxi-Man, who's able to boost his strength, speed, agility, and endurance to superhuman levels for short periods of time. The animalistic heroine Wild Thing, and Freeze Frame, who's capable stopping time.

Here's good, the stuff you have up so far is great! I do believe Ranger would be very busy in the Estacada region of Oregon lol! I rather like the idea of he and Seahawk being the basis of a Seattle group though.

I've got a few more West Coast based heroes, one from Atlanta, Miami, Kansas City, and teams from Chicago, Detroit, San Franciso, and Los Angeles, that I never did anything with. I'll post them in a bit.

This sounds like a fantastic idea.  One small hitch in the plans might result from our hero teams being from Washington, D.C., though.

It's still a great idea, and we could still easily have some crossover events!

It's interesting, but I just recently came across (and updated) the list of vigilante/hero teams in the Guardians campaign.

I think it would be really cool to incorporate the heroes from Drosta's (or others') campaigns.

I'll copy and paste my list here tonight.  Right now we have teams in:

Maine
Philadelphia
New York City
Manitoba
Indianapolis
Washington, D.C.
Los Angeles
New Orleans

Though some of those aren't really "hero teams" (the one in New Orleans is a detective agency and the one in Maine is a group of aliens that help Earth).  And the above doesn't reflect our many heroes allied with C.H.E.S.S. or the unaffiliated vigilantes that work alone.

Now we just need to start adding these to something like a google map maybe?

I have started a map on Google named Super Hero Teams anyway. It's public and in order to add someone as a collaborator I just need to send an invite via email to you. Shoot me an email if you want in on this! Link to the map is http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&ll=45.550842,-122.596092&spn=...

Here's a few non-US heroes and villains I've come up with.

UK

Iron Hart - One of the UK's premier hero. High Charisma, Invulnerability, Flight and Willpower.
The Druid & Pixie - An actual druid and his fey companion.
Crimson Hawk - A street level vigilante operating in Manchester.

The Department of Strange Happenings - The UK governmental agency tasked with investigating super crime, aliens, paranormal, and super natural activities within the UK. Based in London, it's located near Scotland Yard.

UK BASED VILLAINS

Bloody Mary - A vicious female mutant with the ability to make people bleed spontaneously.
The Clansman - A Scottish villain with Heightened Strength, and a magical claymore.
Pagan - An eco-terrorist.

Chapoteo - A water controlling heroine from Spain.
Riesig - The size changing giant from Germany
Le Fantôme - The non-Corporeal heroine from France.

Freemason - Hero of the Freemason Order.

EUROPEAN VILLAINS

The Web - A European based criminal organization formed after WWII, by members of several organized crime groups, and former members of various resistance organizations. They tend to stay out of things like narcotics smuggling, prostitution, and other "street crimes", and focus their energy on the acquisition of confidential information, controlling arms smuggling, industrial espionage, targeted assassinations, blackmail, etc. Their motto - "No One Escapes the Web."

Tyranny - European based villain group dedicated to the destruction and domination of the European Union.

They're based out of Geneva, Switzerland, with operating bases in Mexico City, Mexico; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Johannesburg, South Africa, and Bangkok, Thailand. The team has members from several member countries including:

Desert Hawk - A Saudi Prince, with Flight, Heightened Endurance, a Heightened Senses, and a Tracking ability.

Very nice...

I might steal a couple of those teams.  We alsways need good names for foriegn powers.

(Plus, national heroes tend to get into trouble when they go abroad, regardless of the villains...)

I have asked this over on the MHG Forum, do we want to mark teams that are no longer functioning with a different colored marker? Do we even want to place them on the map? The default color for a new marker is blue but light blue, red, green, yellow, purple, and pink are also available choices. As well as with a dot in the ecenter of the marker, a pushpin instead of a ballon, etc. You can also add icon's to the map of your own design.

I'd say use Red for teams that are no longer active, as it'd make it much easier to spot them.

I'd say use Red for teams that are no longer active, as it'd make it much easier to spot them.

I placed a marker for each locale Unity has a base. I will work on changing markers for teams that are no longer operational. Euroforce I dropped in Paris since there was already a team in London, if someone has a better spot for them feel free to let me know.

Here's a quick snapshot of how the map is shaping up.

The map can be viewed as a satellite image as well.

Oops...I forgot to mention that Euroforce is based in Brussels, Belgium. Sorry about that.  Embarrassed

Fixed!

Oh I should mention I placed the marker for North Guard right on Parliament Hill.

Thanks! I've also got some stuff for Israel, Australia, and a few other African heroes and villains, but I never bothered to come up with names for them. The plan was for me to eventually get around to making a source book for players to reference. But with you putting this together, I might have to dig that stuff out (pull up the files), and get cracking on fleshing out the details. I've got their powers, sex, and locale, I'd just need to add a quick background, and a few other details. Also, do you want my list of villains?

Definitely.

Everyone needs more villains.

I plan to open a thread with some of our characters too, for those who are interested.

I suppose I could start, either a seperate map, or just add the villains with a different colored marker.

I'd suggest a separate map, to keep it from getting to cluttered. Say either green for active and red for the inactive/deceased villains.

Just an FYI, I can add pictures to the descriptive text for these markers if anyone wants to have a team portrait.

I'm having the guy who did the counters for our teams do some pix.  I'll see if we can get a few team shots.  (Mystics and Sentries will be first)
