Back from National Guard Duty

Well folks, I'm back after 21 days of "fun" on "lovely" Ft. Pickett. As there's nothing I enjoy more than being in an information vacuum for three weeks. Capped off by sleeping in an un-air conditioned building win 100+ weather, or wondering around for hours on end a swamp, or wading through armpit deep brown water for several hours. Once I've gotten the opportunity to see what's been going on (as I haven seen a TV or newspaper, heard a radio, or been on the internet for three weeks), I'll start posting again.

Good to see you back. I missed the post that said you were going to be away, and I was worried.

Glad you are back!

No worries, I'm still digging through all of the various message boards, emails, etc. And I see a lot of silliness has taken place in my absence. Once I sort through what's happened, I'll be updating several threads, and getting my game back online.

Welcome back, Dominique!  As you read you'll find that some were wading through swampy water up to their armpits here as well (but of a different sort).    Wink

Yeah, I'm still digging through all the posts, and catching up. I'll be updating the online game on either Wednesday or Thursday, and a few other things by the weekend.

Nice to hear from you "D"... was worried.  I also missed your post about being away... lol!  I hope.. I'm not part of the silliness you've come back to!  Being 'New' to the game... I'm a little uncertain if I'm playing in theme...so please feel free to private message me for ANY criticism!

Welcome Home! Smiley

At the moment, I've actually got a waiting list to join the game, so I'll have to hold off.  Embarrassed

Nope, just 100+ (with the heat index) temps, flies, ticks, chiggers, and the urge to choke the hell out of about half my guys.

Chiggers were a problem in the "Adventure" text adventure game by Scott Adams.

No, but I did give a couple of them "corrective training", as they were having some issues comprehending, and/or lack of motivation.

They're parasites that burrow into your skin. I've got about two dozen little scars around my ankles, from them.

Ok, did it involve anything you may have learned from a Punisher comic?

Nope. We had a "stress management session". I caused them a lot of physical stress to see how well they managed it. I "smoked" a guy for about 20 minutes.

Nah, they frown on that type of activity, as it's not seen as productive in today's military. But, I have seen it used in some cases, including my last deployment to Iraq, where one young PFC took issue with the way his squad leader was speaking with him. The young PFC decided to take swing at his squad leader, and quickly learned the error of is ways. In addition to earning a trip to the hospital, he got the added bonus of a lovely set of wrist jewelry, and some quality time in correctional custody.

You mean, back when we used to walk to school in three feet of snow, uphill both ways!    Cheesy
