Chaos Ensues
setting:  Lawrence KS (home of the Jay hawks) Late January 2011

currently the world is in chaos in central and north America there is a strange illness overtaking the population 50 to 60 percent of the population have come down with symptoms of a strange illness (weakness, memory loss, feinting, hallucinations, fever, and a mortality rate estimated to be at 80%) martial law has been implemented over most of the united states.

on January 3rd nuclear war has ignited in the far east as Pakistan and India both Korea's china and and Russia for separate reasons  exchange  nuclear volleys china in the process shoots down 90% of all satellites and communications are disrupted world wide.

the mid east is in chaos, with riots is the streets of every major city with the exception of Iran. President Ahmadinejad has hinted at another dooms day plot against the united states claiming that god has spoken with him and given him the means to victory.

on top of this the S.E.T.I. program has received a signal thought to be from inside our own solar system containing a single word........ Utalli.

The Players

Jessy Lee van zantz (28): having spent the last couple of years in the Oklahoma oilfields he has returned home to visit his mother, who has contracted a strange illness.
Jessy is a rebel at heart having been kicked out of the military for punching a superior officer. after serving a 6 month sentence in the brig, the only work he could find was as an orderly at Hastings sanitarium in Nebraska, where he was terminated for giving mullet cuts to some of the patients. using his knowledge of mechanics which he picked up in the military he found work repairing the vehicles at an oil producing company in Oklahoma where he has worked the past 2 years.
Jessy is a pure American spirit, sporting his Leonard skynyrd  cut off T-shirt and glorious mullet with pride as he distills his families recipe for white lightning.

Kari van durrin (25):A native to Denver Colorado, Kari is attending the Denver school of fine arts. This is adverse to her fathers wishes who would like her to follow in his footsteps and take over the family business ( the MEGA corporation ). her mother passed away when she was 12 and her father never remarried, and Kari is all he has left.
Kari has recently been cut off by her father  as a means of trying to pressure her to follow his wishes. she is first cousin to Jessy van zantz, is visiting Lawrence to see her aunt.

Chuck Simmons (  ): was the 2008 #1 contender for the Heisman trophy when he accidentally got his left arm caught in the automated ball thrower during practice while he was checking out one of the cheerleaders do a particular trick (which involved some very high kicking). this tragically ended his promising football career and left him with a mangled arm.
Wanting to achieve his former glory he began pre Med hoping to find a way to repair his damaged limb he tries out yearly for the Kansas city chiefs and is always politely turned away. he works for the university as the ball keeper for the field goal balls. 

Ruby Ella (30):  Ruby is a truly distressed individual. 6'5" tall Ruby is a cross dresser most recently from New Orleans where she/he picked up the charlatan trades common the psychics of the area. she truly believes her reading to  be of the future. having recently become obsessed with Judy Garland Ruby has hitch hiked to Lawrence, and is searching for all things wizard of Oz. she always attempts to have at least one red garment (usually shoes) and her prized chicken bone necklace.
she likes dressing like Katie Perry and  currently wears a bright blue wig.

T.J. Solomon (  ): hails from Rhode Island. is on academic scholarship  to K.U. and plays tuba in the marching band T.J. is a mild hypochondriac. He follows the Torah at his convenience.

The beginning

The players, who aren't already living in Lawrence, begin arriving couple days before new years. They begin to settle in. Jessy and Kara  staying at Jessy's mothers house and  Ruby at a low end Hotel where she sets up shop offering her wares.
As the world begins to descend in to chaos Jessy is continually told that he can't see his mother  as she is in quarantine. he begins to get more and more frustrated and  begins to drink heavily (compared to his usual case a day habit). over this time period the government has epidemiologist Trinity Starlet appearing on national news programs commenting on the Unknown Illness.

on January 29th the majority of Lawrence citizens are advised by door to door law enforcement  and national guard appearances that town meeting  addressing the current world events and the illness will be held at the university of Kansas arena the players arrive, and are mildly surprised to see that  trinity starlet is the featured speaker. She advises the crowd that  the following morning that the local hospitals  are going to be testing for the  illness by specialist doctors flown in by the government, and have sign up sheets passed around. After the meeting  the players leave and Ruby notices  Trinity getting in to the front escalade in a 3 car caravan the individual, who opens and Closes the door for her, is  wearing a Dick Tracy style hat and rain coat and when it turns toward Ruby the wind catches the collar of the coat revealing a face reminiscent of a skull. The individual quickly rushes around the vehicle and  gets in the drivers side and  the caravan and speeds off. Ruby keeps this to herself.

T.J., Kari,and chuck all head home and do various activities associated with being at home. Jessy drives his truck to the hospital and proceeds to drink a mix of white lightning moonshine and Pabst blue ribbon. Ruby heads to a local corner  to attempt to make enough money for  hotel fare and a meal.

at around midnight after passing out in his truck while jamming to skynard and  leaning on his horn police show up at Jessys truck and after  some words shoot him with a bean bag gun and arrest him

at the same time Ruby is picked up for soliciting. she/he is also taken to jail and placed in the same cell as Jessy.
Jessy who is awakened by Ruby shouting  for the return of her chicken bone necklace and blue wig him self begins to shout demanding a cheese sandwich.this goes on for a couple hours before  the police get  fed up and shoot both Ruby and Jessy  with tasers and hog tie them at which point they are transported to the hospital for testing.

upon arrival at the hospital Jessy and ruby are fastened to gurneys and left in the hall for several minutes. Jessy attempts to break the bonds and fails.  Ruby notices the individual in the trench coat enter the hall from a door at the far end and enter another door. again she keeps this to her/him self. at this point  2 orderly arrive and take Jessy to a room with several oxygen type tents and roll him in to one immediately a doctor approaches the tent wearing a old style gas mask (reminiscent of the sandman)  and fills the tent with a pollen/spore cloud. Jessy passes out after about 20 seconds. Ruby is pushed in to the room next and the same occurs as she is passing out  she notices trinity starlet conversing with the doctor and two men in trench coats.

after sunrise the other players arrive at the hospital for testing. sitting in the waiting room none notice that  only 1 in 3 of the other people taken back for testing  leave  also none notice the conversations of the other people waiting  discussing the odd shadows that passes over previous nights full moon.
each of the players are met by  the same doctor one at a time  and are taken back and after the doctor does a very short physical exam each gets  a dart to the neck and is placed in restraints on a gurney and placed in and isolation tent and gassed.

over the next several days the group is in and out of consciousness on what they believe to be the third or forth day the room is rocked by an explosion and 4 people wearing gas masks enter the room spray two trench coat wearing (guards) with sub machine gun fire  and rush the players in to a u-haul still in gurneys strap them down and speed off. after 20 minutes the players are switched in to another similar type vehicle and sped away as the old one gets lit afire after another 15-20 minutes the players are rolled in to a large room  and placed in clear chambers and examined by the people who took them from the hospital.

after a short time one of the rescuers takes off his gas mask and introduces him self as Louis Clancy  and informs them they have been infected by spores for some unknown reason by what he believes to be aliens (the players all laugh at and mock him) Louis spends some time convincing the players that  he is truthful as far as he knows (partially  by producing  and apparent alien body,verified by chuck)  and that he believes Trinity starlet to be at the center of the spoer infestation and that  he is going to go after her. he further states that if the players would help he could do what he could to cleanse the spores from their bodies the players agreed and  at this point  the first session  of V&V in over 10 years ended.   I apologize for poor punctuation as I'm tired.

Travis his wife  Sarah, Lane, Lance, and Lances step daughter Nat. A very intresting group.  there is alot of rust to knock off and cob webs to clear out before I can run  a game smoothly again.

Oh the mullet should have been a giveaway.  Can you tell me the complete list of who is playing who?
