Cosmic Energy, not to be confused with cosmic rays, is a potent type of energy that seeps into our universe from inbetween universes.   It is created when two extradimensional planes "rub" against each other and  interdimensional friction is created.
    Cosmic Energy is both the lubricant and the barrier that permits planes to move about in the multiverse, and it also keeps them seperated so that they don't all fold into each other.

    Many highly advanced races have learned to harness this energy for various effects.   The Zero Agents, for example, power their entire base, Division Zero, with Cosmic Energy.

   Some mad men have attempted to deplete stores of Cosmic Energy inorder to destroy whole planes of existance.   This is one of the things that Division Zero tries to safeguard against.   They step in and stop certain races from using too much of this energy for fear of destroying a plane's stablity.

    When viewed from out side looking at a two dimensional map of the planes, the streams of Cosmic Energy between the Worlds resemembles at tree.     Some prophets who have had visions of this image called the stream of Cosmic Energy Yggrasil.
