Okay, I've only skimmed through it so far, but I can say that it looks to be pretty interesting, with a little bit of something for everyone. I also really like the characters Hyper and Shadow Slayer.

I have, and I've even printed the counters, but I haven't even got a chance to glance at it yet (it's tough finding the time when you're running or playing in four V&V campaigns and running two others).

I downloaded it...there is a villainous Santa Claus and also a host of other villains...including the Black Seer, a guy with lots of magical spells...Shadow Slayer, someone who had died and came back to life. In fact the book opened up with a "villain compendium" that introduced 10 super villains.

I really like the "villain" Hyper, and could see him easily being turned to into a hero. He just may make an appearance in my online game, with a few minor tweaks to his back story.

I've got to finish working through some of this back log. I'm just now starting to put a dent in things. Hopefully by the end of the Summer, my workload will be approaching something close to normal.

A couple of days ago I ran the short little Christmas-themed segment called "This Nut's Not Sweet".

The heroes Wraith, Contagion, and Blackbeard (all three sound like bad guys, don't they?) entered Casey's department store where Santa Claws had taken innocent children hostage.

The "Noels" made their way towards Wraith, but did not spot the tiny (1/4" tall) Contagion.

Blackbeard entered the fray, but ended up going up against the big bad, Santa Claws himself (who landed a couple of powerful blows against him!)

After Blackbeard took out Claws, and turned his attention to intimidating three of the henchmen.  Meanwhile, Contagion and Wraith took out a few bad guys each themselves, Contagion with a poison attack and Wraith with magnetic blasts.

[The three with white squares on them reflect the Noels that surrendered after Blackbeard intimidated them]

As the battle neared its end, Blackbeard took on Raindeer while the others finished off the last of the Noels.

A summary of the above events can be found on the "Exploits" thread, which we use for adventures that don't make it into the main "Guardians" title.

What are White Mane's powers? Do his stats appear in print? Or are there plans to publish his stats? He looks great.

Well, no they don't yet. I had plans and plans within plans that may someday come to fruition, but until then, he just wouldn't be available.

But, seeing how he doesn't need to see dollar print, and because I regard the guys who come here as people who really love the game, here's a freebie.
(On my PDF its a one pager... I preview it here and it bleeds off to a second page... hmmm...)

We just played through the second adventure of Menagerie.  Overall it was fun, though there were a number of frustrating mistakes on the maps (which I found a bit confusing as GM).

You can see pictures over on the Guardians Issue Summaries thread.

As I prep for tonight's finale of this one, I just realized a goof by the authors:

On the last page (of text), it gives combat tactics for Imageer, telling us "Imageer’s most dangerous attacks are those where player-heroes can be induced to launch attacks upon each other if they are fooled by the illusion that one of their team members is one of the villains."

The problem with this?  Imageer doesn't have the ability to do this (no Illusions: Type A)!  Shocked

Wow, I was just looking over Menagerie and came across Hyper in the compendium at the front.  The guy has Heightened Speed TIMES FIVE!!  They balance it out by saying he just gets four attacks and uses a value of thirty for his agility (I assume this is to determine who goes first in the turn.)

I'm glad they decided to tone that down, because otherwise his initiative bonus would be +145!?!?!  This would give him a minimum of TEN actions per turn if he rolled a ONE on his initiative roll!

I see what you were referring to, Majestic, and I would tend to agree.  If she tried to "cover" a hero with an illusion, I would think the bigger danger would be the hero suffocating...?

I try to look at this sorts of things as No-Prize opportunities. Is there ever a situation when a character with Solid Energy Illusions might be able to use that power to redress someone to look like someone else? Maybe ...

There might be situations where this is possible without covering up someone's mouth. Not every character has a full-fledged face mask, for example ...

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that - probably earlier in the writing process - they'd given the character Illusions: Type A.  But then they must have scrapped them (but forgot to change her battle tactics to match).
