In honor of the year 2015, I'm starting this discussion thread about the oft overlooked V&V adventure The Pentacle Plot (product code 2015).

For starters, it has a great cover layout.

I think it has rules for warfare, doesn't it?  The New Teen Titans #25 + New Teen Titans Annual #1 had a bit of warfare.

The Pentacle Plot had a plot. And I believe those two issues of the Titans also had a plot? HmmmHuh

Yeah, pages ten through eleven covers "Battle Rules."  I've talked to AK about warfare in V&V and I don't think he liked the rules for it.  He suggested one of the other games FGU offers for implementing warfare in V&V.

I like the cover, too.  Plus, the alternate dimension COMPLETE with history!

Cougar used a portion of that book for his big annual Megalopolis event last year.  It was great and some of the characters were much tougher than expected.

I liked the adventure and it was quite creative.  While I'm not a huge fan of Jill Thompson's art, I really do like the layout of the cover!  Smiley

The battle rules were only so-so, though you've got to give the author credit for trying something so bold.

Edit: As I mentioned earlier, I like the "alternate universe" with a developed history!

I like the idea, I just don't want to do medieval, since we are just coming off YEARS of playing D&D.  I was considering setting the portal to the Wild West or American Revolution.  No more dragons for me for a while...
