Oh, I forgot. It took less than an hour to make up the character and then an additional four hours for Wolf Girl to design her outfits, armor weapons and look. This is what I get for making up a PC with a fourteen year old girl. The Cat sweaters are just killing me. I assume she will post them at some point.

Technically it means "light bringer"  and the Morning Star,  ( Venus) is the first star in the morning and is associated with Lucifer.   

At night,  the Evening Star, also Venus is associated with the Virgin Mary.

Since Wolf Girl has not had a chance to play yet I am going to run her through some "Fake" combat so she gets to know the rules. She also indicated she wants to make up a PC in The Ravenswood since she is more Fantasy than Hero inclined.

Maybe run both this weekend.

Okay, so I just finished my first practice adventure. Not sure if there's supposed to be a formal introduction, but eh. Here it goes:

Advance. Lunge. Parry. Riposte. I readied myself for another attack from my colleague, not that he frightened me. The opposite, really. Aaron, one of the two people I had grown to consider a "friend", was not as skilled with a blade as I. Magic was his strong suit, but physical combat was a requirement, so, on occasion, I aided him and his sister, Ida, in their mandatory training.

He lunged at me, but in vain. Blade on blade, clashing and dancing through the air with an accompanying cacophony of blunt contact, I easily weaved my way through his attacks, but never losing awareness of my second opponent, Ida, who was quietly readying herself behind me. She thrust her blade at me and I parried it with a simple flick of my wrist. The Twins now stood on either side of me, weapons extended and feet firmly planted.

I eyed them with amusement, confidence at a high and competitive blood flowing. In one swift movement, I swung my blade at Aaron's and then knocked him back with a half hearted kick to his chest. Taking his sword in my hand, I snatched the weapon from his hand with ease, his stunned body not acting quick enough to resist.

Ida took this chance to attack, her blade barely missing my face. Still holding Aaron's weapon by the blade, I smirked and hooked the hilt onto her sword, pulling with extreme force before the wooden weapon turned into a projectile, flying through the air and landing in an opposite wall with a solid THUD.

Some people turned to observe the rogue blade, but soon turned to another direction when a loud THUMP, THUMP, THUMP of a staff hitting the wooden floor resonated throughout the training hall.

"You may all leave. Excellent job, today." The voice of Swordsmaster Gorden boomed. He eyed the sword protruding from the wall and walked over to it, calmly pulling it out and placing it back on one of the many racks set up around the room.

I grabbed my bags and bottle of water that had been placed off to the side, making small talk with Aaron and Ida all the while. We were just about to leave when Swordsmaster Gorden placed a firm hand on my shoulder and pulled me to the side. Ida gave an apologetic look and stepped out of the room, whereas Aaron just pointed at me, dragged a thumb along his throat and snickered before following his sister out.

I scowled at the empty doorway and then glanced up at the Swordsmaster, keeping my head low, but gaze upwards.

"What was that, Juniper?" He raised an eyebrow and his lips formed into a straight line.

I cleared my throat. "What was what, sir?"

He narrowed his eyes. "Don't play ignorant with me," He snapped. "All of those fancy moves and unnecessary additions, grabbing onto a blade for god's sake! In a real fight, with a REAL sword, you would've sliced your palm right open. Still seem like a good move, hm?"

"At the time, yes sir. I was just trying to better Aaron and Ida, give them a challenge, you know?" I gave a small smile and hoped the excuse would pass.

"Better them? All you did was show them up! A good trainer doesn't humiliate her trainees."

"Humiliate? I did not humiliate them, sir. If anything, I let them get off easy! I could have ended the fight so much quicker than..." My voice faltered as I noticed his extremely disapproving expression. I sighed and looked down begrudgingly. "My apologies, sir. I'll make sure not to let it happen again."

He huffed in approval. "Good. Now, go on. Get some rest before I think of another way to punish you. Maybe scrubbing the training hall's floors..." He placed a finger on his stubbled chin in mock thought.

I smiled and scooped up my items before jogging out of the hall. "G'night, sir!" I called over my shoulder as I made my way back to my room.

Part 2

I padded down the dimly lit hallway, the cool breeze flowing through the corridor sending goosebumps over my damp skin. I had just finished a well deserved bath, and planned to go back to my room for more rest, but something caught my attention. The faintest sound of footsteps could be heard coming this way, and by the sound of it, there were close to thirty people. I squinted towards the direction I heard them coming from.

It was close to 1 in the morning; "Who would be awake at this time of night?" I asked myself, slowly and cautiously walking forward and keeping my body close to the cold stone wall. I carefully lowered a torch from the wall and blew out the flame, arming myself with the metal instrument. As I rounded a corner, several men in brown robes appeared. I stepped back quickly and peaked my head around the wall. The gleam of metal could be seen under the thick fabric of their robes, signifying they were armed...and a threat.

I quickly made my way to the courtyard where the watchtower was and sighed with relief when I saw the guard, Shanen, on duty. I stepped into his line of vision and motioned for him to sound the alarm---THUNK. Just then, an arrow flew into the tower, hitting him in the chest.

"Aw, crap." My arms dropped and I spun around to face the attacker who was aiming down at me from the next story. I breathed in deeply and sprinted across the dewy field of grass, almost slipping as I made my way into the watchtower. As I got up to the top, another arrow whizzed by my head, barely missing my cheek and burying itself in the wood behind me.

I spun around the large ballista that was perched upon the watchtower and aimed it at the archer below who was readying another arrow. I released the arrow and sent it flying at my attacker's unsuspecting chest, the force of the impact sending him flying backwards, the arrow landing in the wall and pinning him.

Just then, yells and shouts came from all around, along with the sound of metal on metal. My expression turned grim as I readied myself for battle. The robe I still wore was nowhere near sufficient, so I exchanged it for Shanen's cloths, trying my best to choose the garments that weren't soaked in blood. Two knives and a sword were placed at my side, and I swiftly made my way down the stairs of the watchtower and into the dim corridors. Mostly everyone who had been roused from their sleep still wore their nightware and weren't armed with particularly good weapons. I looked around and saw a brown robed figure advancing towards me, two nasty looking sais in his hands. I smirked and planted myself firmly on the ground before running at the attacker, whipping out both of my knives and deciding to use the slippery floor to my advantage. I fell to the ground and slid swiftly towards my enemy, under his parted legs. Slashing at the back of his calves, he fell to the ground with a strangled cry. I sheathed the knives and turned towards the sound of a large crash, along with the sound of yelling. A larger man stormed through the corridor, grabbing his attackers with ease and slamming them against the nearest wall.

My lip curled up in a silent snarl as I grabbed my fallen enemy's sais and flung one at my new adversary. To my dismay, he caught it swiftly, his gaze turning towards me. Suddenly, his body began to morph, his facial features elongating into a beastly muzzle and a large pair of bat-like wings sprouting from its back, shredding its brown robes.
I drew my long and short swords, readying myself for whatever it had to throw at me. It advanced at a threateningly quick pace and when it reached me, I swiped at its chest with my shorter blade, then another with the larger.

It blocked both attacks and I lunged out of its way as it tried to land a punch. It tried to swing at me again, but a blade blocked the path of its fist. Swordsmaster Gorden stood at my side, both hands gripping his long sword tightly. He lunged at the beast, his blade tinged with a blue aura and the essence of magic. Distracted by Gorden, I used this chance to strike once more, only slightly grazing it's side. It growled and smacked my weapons out of my hands, each blade soaring through the misty morning air and landing in the damp courtyard field. It then, in turn, took Gorden and threw him at a far wall, his sword slipping from his fingers as he was lifted up.

I backed up out of its reach, now defenseless against its attacks. Gorden swung his sword once more, but to no avail. The beast chuckled darkly and turned to face me. I took another step back. Then, the creature spoke.

"You will lead me to the Book of O." It rasped.

My expression remained unreadable, not hinting if I had any knowledge or recognition of the item he was referring to.

"Do you understand me? The task is simple. Complete it, and I will grant you a merciful death." It smiled, revealing rows of jagged teeth.

"Hm, yes," I gave a small nod, and in one precise movement, grabbed Gorden's sword from off the floor and spun around, plunging the blade into the beast's chest.

It stared down at its wound and slowly rose its head to look at me. "How?"

I just returned his stare, unblinking.

"What is the name of my vanquisher? I demand to know!" It boomed. It's body began to deform, collapsing in on itself, a dim light could be seen at it's core, almost like fire consuming it.

Again, I said nothing. Just stared at the creature, the side of my mouth slowly rising into a smirk.

It roared in rage as the light in its chest grew brighter and angrier, pulling the rest of the beast in until there was nothing left but a wisp of black smoke.

I glanced around and noticed that most of the attackers had either been defeated or fled. A handful of bodies lay on the ground. I scanned the casualties for any familiar faces and- Ida and Aaron. I rushed to them urgently, kneeling down beside them and checking their pulses. Alive. I breathed a sigh of relief and called over an able person to help me get them to a proper room so I could tend to their wounds.

As we carried their unconscious bodies through the halls, I thought about what the creature had said to me. 'What was the Book of O? Why did the invaders want it?' I frowned, lost in thought and we continued on.
