Marvel Whiteside Parsons was born October 2nd 1914 to  Marvel and Ruth Parsons.     Jack's, as he was nicknamed, parents soon divorced as his father had a habit of visiting prostitutes and  Ruth was forced to work to support her family.   Jack was left to his own interests, notably mythology, science and the occult.

Jack was a solitary boy, and a voracious reader.   His intellect was off the charts.   He developed in interest in explosives and would experiment in the local woods, blowing up things, and writing down the results.    This hobby was only surpassed by his other, darker one. 

Young Jack being an accomplished occultist and  by the age of 12 claimed to have conjured the Devil.  This left him scarred, and he abandoned his occult studies for nearly a decade.

During the next ten years, Jack became a noted scientist in the field of rocketry.  Despite getting expelled from many schools due to poor attendance and even poorer grades,  Jack made a name for himself. 

He impressed Verner Von Braun, whom he was corresponding with since he was a child, so much, Von Braun stopped writing to Parson's for fear that the young genius would steal state secrets from him.

In his twenties,  Parsons returned to  the occult and after writing to Aleister Crowley,  Parson's joined the Ordo Templi Orientis, and formed the Agape Lodge.  This lodge was dedicated to the use of Orgone, (magical energy created by sexual rituals).   

He build the Parsonage in Southern California and held magical rituals that seemed to marry his two passions;  the occult and rocket science.   Just what he was trying to accomplish has never been discovered.

While at the Parsonage,  Jack befriended many people of note.  Poets, communists, science fiction authors ( Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, and L. Ron Hubbard among them)  It was during this time that he founded the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which was dedicated to the use of rockets for space exploration.

It was during this time that the two most important things attributed to Jack Parson's came into being.  The invention of solid rocket fuel, making the Apollo Missions possible, and the Babalon Working.


The Babalon  Working was a ritual created by Crowley decades earlier.  While Crowley performed the Babalon Working many times, he was never successful with it.     Jack spent 11 days, with L Ron Hubbard,  performing the Working with his wife Sara.   

The Babalon Working is a magic orgy where the  Whore of Babalon is summoned.   At the end of the 11 days,  Majorie Cameron came knocking at the door of the Parsonage.   She was a glamorous woman with red hair and green eyes and was immediately dubbed the Scarlet Woman by  Parsons.   

Parson's was immediately smitten with her. 


  It is not known if this was the reason, or it if it just made it easier, but Sara Parson's left with L Ron Hubbard to Florida, but not before stealing all of Parson's life savings.    Jack tried a magical attack, nearly sinking Hubbard's yacht ( which he bought with Parson's money) with a summoned storm, but Jack was defeated by threats from Sara.  She said she would reveal the secrets hidden within the walls of the Parsonage.

Broke and discredited, Jack and Marjorie moved to the Castle House, in Redondo Beach, and had the Parsonage demolished.

Jack died under suspicious circumstances when his home made lab exploded.    Witnesses say they head two explosions.   The police ruled it an accident after a used syringe of morphine was found in the rubble.     Others say he was killed by Israeli spies, to keep him quite.  Others say he was killed by the FBI to keep him from fleeing to Israel.  Others say it was a failed summoning.  After all,  the neighbors say they did smell sulfur.
