Anyone watching this show? What do you think so far?

I thought the first episode was a little weak but the 2nd and 3rd were better. It's cool having a TNG/Voyager feel to the show, but with comedy built in. Like if I was a starship captain, this is how I would act, so they nailed it !

So far, thumbs up!

I saw the 3rd episode, and it's like "ST:TNG Light". The writing could be a little tighter, but it's not bad. I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars, which is about what I rated the 1st season of Next Generation.

I thought episode 2 was better than three.  Had to pull it up on demand because of the football game that week running late, but it was worth it.

I've enjoyed it, but I like Discovery better.  I find Orville kind of strange, mixing the dick and fart jokes in with more serious storylines.

Haven't watched Discovery yet. I DVR'd it, but can you confirm that I cannot watch the remaining episodes on regular TV? I have to get some all access shit and pay for it?

If that's the case, I'll stick to Orville.  Smiley

Yeah, it's an incredibly stupid plan destined to fail.  Not only that, but a huge chunk of TVs in the US (all Samsung, like mine) can't download the app.

So if you live outside the US (not sure about Canada), you can watch it free on Netflix.  But in the US you have to pay for it.  It's not a lot ($6.99 with ads, or $9.99 without), but they are also going to have a winter break, which is also a pain (I wonder if some will just cancel the service during that time).

It's like a bunch of suits got together and said "I wonder how we can make it so this show can fail!"  Or, more likely, "how can we squeeze a few more $ out of this?"

Yeah well I won't be watching it I guess.  That's just stupid.

I like The Orville, and I'm glad to see it got picked up for a second season.
Yeah... the writing could be a bit better, but the stories are good and the cast is fun. Once in a while they hit a home run (The Social Media episode was very nice). We seem to forget how dreadful the first season of TNG actually was.

I have found Discovery to be unwatchable. Actually worse than Voyager, or even JJ-Trek. I stand by my assessment that Discovery was designed from the onset to end the Star Trek franchise.

I didn't even bother with Discovery because of the CBS all access bullshit. Just ridiculous.

Yeah... the "All Access" thing is totally [expletive deleted]. You can watch it on Netflix... in the UK.
