Dear mama,
Hi mama, how are you doing? I hope you and Caitlyn are doing well. I know things are hard back home with papa gone and sister expecting. I miss you all and wish I could be there helping. And I really wanted to see baby Abigail; I don't care what the doctors say, it's going to be a girl. And if I'm wrong, I'll still love little Liam Jr. It was kind of the O'Brian's to help with Cait's care, after what happened at the mines. They must be as excited to see their grandchild as much as you are.
Now I hope you're sitting mama, because there's something I have to tell you. I'm fine, not hurt or anything, just had some excitement. Well, as the train was passing through the mountains, we were set upon by robbers. They managed to stop the train, knock it right off the tracks. A few good people fought the robbers, and I did my best to help, but I think I was too much in a state to be of use. Mostly I think I hid, but during it all I got separate from Mary. It ended with the good people saving us but during the commotion Mary was killed. I'll write to the Douglas' next and give my condolences. Please don't worry about me, I've taken to the company of the good people, Mr. Lovelace, Ms. Delilah and their companions. Ms. Delilah in particular has been very kind to me. She reminds me much of aunt Jodie. They're heading to Deadwood as well, and said they'd keep me company while they attend to their business. I'll write again when I get settle in. I love you and miss everyone. Please give them all my blessing.
Love and best wishes, Molly
