Hi, all:

I'm Stacy, Staff Writer for V&V. I've worked with Dave W on the past 2 modules. As he mentioned in another post, there are some great things lined up, and I'm excited to be part of them!

I started gaming when I was twelve and have been into tabletop/console/PC games ever since. I met Dave in college (I'd best not say more, he might come after me: kidding, Dave!) and look forward to working with him on future projects.

Thanks for the welcome from the other thread!

Stacy

Hi! I'm Dave Woodrum, I'm a huge fan of V&V of 20 years or more and I just happen to be lucky enough to be one of the designers of the new Villains & Vigilantes releases by FGU. I've worked with Stacy Smith on a couple of projects thus far and have plans to carry on this dynamic duo for many more!
If you have time, please check out the net freebies that Stacy and I have created for the FGU website. We have more in production so do check back every so often!

Dave & Stacy, if you get some time, would you mind telling us a little bit about you got into gaming, namely V&V, or sharing some of your former characters with us?

Sure! As I mentioned, I started gaming at age 12 with D&D.  I heard from a friend about V&V a few years later, and a few of us played that for a while as well.  Sadly, the group split up and I didn't find anyone to do gaming with again until I was almost finished with college. White Wolf was all the rage then, and I've gone through a number of gaming systems over the years since.  I haven't been an active tabletop gamer for a few years, but if I can find players I hope to start up a V&V game in the near future.

I'd like to add, it's really cool to be a "gamer girl."  There are more of us than ever, but guys still outnumber us 10 to 1, I'd say.  But I'm OK with that.  I've yet to meet a guy who didn't love the fact that, instead of complaining that he plays too much on the X-Box, I'd tell him to quit hogging it!  Cool

Since you have not had an opportunity to do any table top gaming in quite a while, shoot over to the "Where are you from?" thread. I'm sure there are plenty of individuals who would love to get together. Of course we are still working on some of the New York to Canada to Texas logistics but nothing is impossible......

I first got into gaming about the age of 10 when I became fascinated with the little lead miniatures of an older next door neighbor. Naturally, the miniatures just happened to be for the game D&D. I got the basic red box edition and immediately went for the whole idea of the character creation and adventure writing. I might be wrong on this but I’m thinking that V&V was my second rpg. I know that it was my second most played, and still is… but I can’t remember its exact place in my introduction to role playing. I must admit that getting into V&V then was a very happy accident. I was a Marvel comics fan and I wanted to get the Marvel rpg. At the time, however, Wargames West was sold out of the rpg and had no idea when it would be back in. Since V&V was much cheaper and I think they recommended it, I went for V&V instead. I immediately loved it and when I finally did get the Marvel rpg I was disappointed… I had become accustomed to V&V’s way of doing things, especially the random powers generation, and the other rpg didn’t hold the same excitement for me. So I stuck with V&V.
I honestly sat V&V aside for several years not out of lack of interest but rather because I had worn away my rulebook to nothing. This was the early to very mid 90’s and it was getting harder to find V&V stuff. About this time to I had become very serious about game design and spent most of my free time focus developing my own home brewed gaming systems and rules formats. Several years later I was finally able to break into the professional publication realm when I had the chance to work with Dark Quest Games on several products. This lead to other work as well, including a couple of projects with Dark Furies Publishing, a bit with EN Publishing, a couple of monsters for Sword Sorcery Studios, and some inexpensive releases with my own in house labels Top Fashion Games and Mossy Mountain Gathering.
I discovered the revival of V&V shortly after its re-release and approached FGU in regards to working on some new projects for V&V. The rest, of course, is recent history…

I would like to welcome Jeff Dee to this board.  Without whom this board would not exist.

And I love that Jeff was also the 100th member.  Pretty cool.

I thought that was pretty cool myself. Any chance either you, of someone could whip up a Gauntlet avatar for him to use?

I am gonna go out on a limb and say that Jeff may not need my help with any art.  I am lucky if I can draw a scribble. Wink

Oops... I meat taking a pre-existing picture of Gauntlet, and making it into an avatar for him.

Mr. Dedman, welcome to these forums!

For those of you that may not recognize the name, Stephen was the author of at least one V&V adventure - Pre-Emptive Strike - IIRC.

Glad to have you here!   Smiley

Looks like The Great Iridium Con might be Stephen's as well.  IIRC you hail from Australia, correct?  If so, what part? (I've visited Down Under many years back).
