If they were willing, I would give it a shot, I occassionally have business down that way.

Just wanted to put out a welcome thread here.

Feel free to introduce yourself.  Say a few words about yourself... what kind of gaming you like.  If it's just V&V.  Or whatever you feel like saying.

For the best way to get a good board going is to "talk."

So welcome and have fun! Smiley

I'm new to V&V, but not roleplaying or superheroes.  I'm just about to start a new campaign (Pulp Citizen's) and am playing Swarm - a superheroine who can transform her body into a dense cloud of flying, stinging, biting insects.

There's even a Facebook page for her that you can 'Like' and follow her adventures as I update her status during the campaign.

Enjoy!

I dig superhero gaming (and other gaming, of course... i used to run a 18 player battletech campaign) and have run Champions and TSR's Marvel Super Heroes extensively in addition to V&V. I dont game as much now because my 3 stepkids are very girly girls.

they do occasionally make up superheroes for me like "Missile Man" whose arm is a huge missile launcher- he has a utility belt full of stuff that should be awkward to use 1handed. also, "Moon" whose power is "can turn into the moon". Im not sure how...

Bah, excuses excuses, Bill!    Wink

My oldest daughter is very 'girly' and she's played V&V with me before, though admittedly she likely wouldn't anymore (she's too busy with work, the lead in a drama production, etc.).  My youngest daughter is becoming more girly, but she still games (in fact she is making her own RPG right now, some of it drawn from V&V, about this series of dragon books she loves).

In all seriousness, I think the key with females is (often) to put more emphasis on exploring relationships, story, and role-playing.  Us guys?  We just want to hit stuff and blow it up!    Cheesy

im all for that of course, but my son is 2 and my stepdaughters are 5, 9, and almost 11. so theyll be more likely to get into v&v in a few years. im thinking about getting Miranda into it and mikayla when she explains what "becoming the moon" entails lol

Hi; another longtime V&V fan here. I met John at Gary Con IV last week, and he encouraged me to sign up here (again? My old login info may have gotten deleted).

I was one of the lucky few that got to play in Bill Willingham's mini V&V campaign last year at Gary Con III w/ Jack, Jeff, Majestic, DSumner, & Dracos/Ranger, among others.

I go by Keyes (my middle name) at the MHG forums, or you can call me Rick, too.

Welcome, Rick!

Was great to see (and play V&V) with you again this year.

For those who aren't aware, you can view this year's Gary Con action (including shots of Southpaw, played by Keyes) at the Monkey House Games Forum.

Strange how you can delete yourself and come back with the same info and Profile name, yet all the old posts and your old profile are still up.  And the welcome message shows John as an exmember and the message won't leave my box!!

Ummm... just thought I'd let you and Paul know John.

And now my old profile shows my current profile's photo, yet shows the old one is offline and my new one online.

LOL... okay... I deleted my account... please don't ask why.  But I did.  Then I decided when I got home, to sign back up.  I was still allowed to use Sylver Nightwind, but needed to create another User ID or whatever it was.  So I did.

So I sign in and you can see both of my profiles... the old Sylver and the new Sylver.  So, of course I had no profile pic, so I uploaded my flying witch... and it changed not only the new Sylver, but the old.  Yet only the NEW Sylver shows me online.

Get it?  LOL.  It's just strangeness is all.

Oh and when you sign in for the first time you get an auto message stating welcome from John.  But beside his name it said he was an ex-member which of course he is not.  I'd show you but I deleted the message.  Oh but it did leave the whole "1 New Message" section.

Maybe it's just my multi-personalities or something but I just thought it strange that I can use the same user name, but can't see my old posts, yet when changing the profile ICON pic, it changed both of my "incarnations."

DO DO DO DOOOOOOOOO!!  It's a story for... The Twilight Zone!!

Ok got ya. I think the transition of servers caused some issues for people. Like the problem Majestic was having etc.

I can try to play with the member settings but to be honest I really dont want to touch things like that as it could cause a major meltdown.

I'll see if there are any "safer" options though since it's impacting a few people (well two to be exact Smiley )

OH Paul!  Is there any way to just bring back my old Sylver Nightwind?  Or is it more like when a person deletes themselves whether by accident or not, that is it?

I asked John, but he says he doesn't know if you can bring back a person once they delete themselves.

I believe, Sylver, that in order to respawn properly you will need to find a hero with Revivication powers (ask John if that V&V geek-speak doesn't make sense).   Wink

Sylver I checked the member list and it only shows one active Sylver (the new one). It seems when members are deleted they are truly gone.

However, I can try to rebuild the member history (there is an option for that) but I cannot guarantee it will work and it might wreak havoc on the site.

Let me know.

OH and Majestic is correct, I don't have revivication powers. Well not today anyways.   Roll Eyes

It's okay Paul.  Truly not a big deal.  I was just curious is all.

LOL  I don't need to find someone with revivication powers.  I am the phoenix afterall.  Same me.. just new incarnation!  Wink

Welcome, Heston!  Smiley

The Yahoo groups ebb and flow, but are generally relatively quiet.  You'll find a lot more activity here, over at the MHG (Monkey House Games) forum, and on the V&V Facebook page.

Glad to have you here!  Cool

Yeah, the Yahoo group/s were dead, and the Monkey House page looked effectively non-responsive ... at least as far as V&V is concerned.
