And John, I see you're in Flushing. Did you ever go to the FGU storefront, Waterloo, in Mineola in the 80's?

I've just started gaming by PBEM, as in this weekend, but you already knew that. Wink I still prefer that face to face, but just don't have the time anymore. When I did, I tended to GM most of the games (V&V, Champions, AD&D, Top Secret, Recon, Gamma World, Space Opera, etc.).

I play face to face every other Friday.  I have two regular players, Oni/Jimmy, and John Q Hoplite/Mike of this board.  Paulie, the other adminstrator also plays but less frequently.  My wife,  says she plays but so far I think only twice.

And yes, I made it to Waterloo a million times.  I loved that place. I didn't know how important it was till it was gone.  Like so much in life.

I tend to be the GM all the time, but Jimmy had me recreat one of my old characters, Silent Fury, and he plans on making up an adventure for me.  That should be cool!

Gladly, brother.
The Compleat Strategist is one of the key rpg stores in Manhattan.
It's on 33rd street, just east of 5th avenue.
It's cramped from being so stuffed with every game out there. They used to have a pile of old 80's games, but I think they cleaned that out. Might be worth asking.
The have a bulletin board of gamers looking for other gamers.

2 blocks away is one of the best comic book stores in the city: Jim Hanley's Universe.

I have been to Jim Hanley's Universe.  I have known Jim Hanley for years.   I used to work at a comic store, and I met  Jim a few times at workshops and such.  He is a truly nice guy.  Not like the douchenozzles at Midtown Comics.

40th Street.   I went in on a rainy day and Asked if I could put my comics in a bag as I was dripping wet,  everyone was dripping wet.  The guy said cool.  I walked around putting comics in a bag and the manager came over and accused me of stealing.   I explained to him what I was doing and he called me an asshole.   I got the kid who gave me a the bag and the manager still said I was trying to steal.  I shopped there for seven years, and sue me if you want, but I like my comics not damaged by water.  I had about 175 dollars worth of comics that I just left on the counter and went to Jim Hanley's.

Now I use the Discount Comic Book Service and I am as happy as can be.
