Dr Philip Yurt was a man with a vision.  That vision was a city designed to end crime, depression and misery.   He wanted to build  the city of the future, a model for the world, a pinnacle of science, ethics and environmentalism.  No one had ever envisioned a city like this.  There was a reason for this, the technology for such a city didn’t exit yet.   Yurt spent 20 years inventing Psychotecture, architecture designed to calm the mind, and ease the soul.   Graduating the prestigious Miskatonic University,  Yurt was hired by Philip Mann to design and build his modern recreations of the Ancient Wonders of the World.
Yurt first designed the Pyramid Hotel in Las Vegas utilizing many of the principles of Psychotecture.   He and Mann argued continually over the budget and the cost of materials.   Yurt insisted that the exact materials be used or the calming effect of his designs could be compromised.   When the Pyramid Hotel won many design awards and garnered much acclaim,  Yurt’s employment by Mann was cemented.
Yurt designed the Air towers in Manhattan,  London, Paris,  Hollywood, and Las Vegas.   Becoming famous himself,  Yurt pushed Mann into financing his pet project, Science City.

For some reason when I hear the name Science City, I think of some remote secret city, in the former Soviet Union. Cheesy

Using Plato's Utopia as a model, Yurt designed Science City as a series of concentric circles.  The Circle would be then divided into four quarters with a circle where the four corners meet in the dead center.  This divides Science City into five Districts.
As a rebis of science and ancient alchemy, the five districts of Science City represent the five mystic elements; Fire, Air, Water, Earth and Aether.
Just crossing Thermodynamic Way  and between Kepler Avenue, is the Earth District.   Home to some of the most environmentally friendly homes ever built.  Each home, from suburban style houses, to many storied apartment buildings is equipped with solar panels, communal compost areas, and pneumatic tubes for quick and easy removal of waste and recyclables.   The many parks of the Earth District are equidistant from each other, so that every citizen can enjoy a nice stroll.
From Kepler Avenue to Archimedes Avenue is the Water District.  Hydroponic Gardens and Farms make up the most of this quarter.  There are many jobs in this agricultural marvel.  The many layered gardens increase the surface area and let Science City yield as much as ten times as many crops as any comparable sized farmland.  Here can be found The Modern Wonder of the Hanging Gardens.  The Archimedean Screw, powered by the strong Arizonian Sun makes this technological cornucopia, self sustaining!
Then we cross over Oppenheimer Street to the Fire District.  Here we can find most of the industry and business of Science City.  The factories burn fuel made from the pulped garbage of its citizens.   This quarter is a buzz with workers going around and about making Science City the largest product producing area in the South West!
We then cross Einstein  Blvd into the Air District.   Here can be found the many museums, theaters, restaurants as well as shopping centers.  Where would any large city be without commerce?  Moving sidewalks make parking unnecessary.  Why drive when you can casually be conveyed along at a comfortable pace? When in town try to take in a baseball game at Tesla Stadium.  Word is that the Scientists are the team to beat!
And like all major cities, Science City has administrative needs.  Crossing Hypathia Circle brings you to the Aether District.  Here, along with the Modern Wonder of The Colossus, you can find Science City Hall, The Great Library, and equa distance from all other districts, Galen Hospital.
As you can see, Science City meets all your needs with style, panache, and with a minimum of impact to the environment.

Dr Yurt is very vocal about the corruption of his masterpiece.  In his designs, a spire  was supposed to be found in the center of the city.  Instead, the Colossus is located at that spot.   Yurt has been telling anyone who will listen about how the spire was supposed to focus spiritual energy and fuse it with solar energy to generate peaceful sleep for all of Science City's residents.   He is fearful of how this Colossus will affect the people's sleep.

So far only a few cable access shows have had him as a guest.    And unfortunatly,  Dr Yurt has gone missing.  He was last seen hitch hiking towards Arizona.  Dave Mitchel, the last person to have seen him, picked him up in New Mexico and said he stunk of pickles and looked like he had not slept in a year.    Where is Dr Yurt?

Dr. Yurt is alive and well, and resting nicely in a comfy padded room in the Mistatonic University's Psychactric Ward.   He was relased into their custody after his mind collapsed when he ventured too far into the Shadow Of Creaton.

Police have arrested a vagrant who is causing trouble in Science City.  This homeless man was released by police after a night's stay.  He was later IDed  as Dr. Yurt.
