Body Powers

Here's a list of some of the body powers I've allowed/used:

Damage Resistance
: The character particularly resistant to certain types of damage, and takes ½ damage from either physical, energy (heat, electricity, radiation, etc), chemical, mental/psionic, or magical attacks.

Enhanced Stamina: 2 x Power score.

Hardened Defenses: The character is resistant to the effects Devitalization Rays and Absorption. They either have no effect on the character, or they effectiveness is reduced considerably. The exact effects of this ability are left up to the player an GM to work out.

Heightened Immune System: The character is extremely resistant to the affects of diseases and poisons. When used as a defense, it defends as Willpower.

Heightened Recovery: The character recovers Power at 2 x his normal recovery rate.

Immortal: The character never ages.

Immunity: The character is completely immune to the effects of one particular type of power or damage (heat, cold, radiation, poison, diseases, etc.). Exp. You are completely immune to damage from cold based attacks.

Reincarnation: The character can return from the dead. Like Regeneration, the character must select some type of damage that he can’t recover from. The number of hit points beyond death, = the number of days it will take the character to return from the dead. After the character’s body has returned to life, the character will continue to recover power and hit points at his normal  recovery rate.

Retarded Aging: The character ages at a much slower rate than others. The exact rate is left up to the player and GM to work out.

I've got a few others I'm working on, I just need to figure out the game mechanics, and how to word them.

Yeah, these are really cool; I've used some of them before but plan to swipe others, as they're outstanding ideas!

Two comments:

- How can you reduce the chance to Weakness Detect?  Most WD that I've seen works automatically (just takes an action to use).  Does this subtract 4 from their amount they gain (in other words, if they gain a bonus of +5, it becomes a +1)?

- I'd go with a different name, as 'Retarded Aging' sounds a bit like an insult.    Wink   It reminds me of a weakness in Decipher's Lord of the Rings RPG - "dullard" - it wasn't that bad of a weakness, game effect-wise, but what character wants to be known as a 'dullard'?

Whoops...that was one of my house rules (characters had to make a perception roll to determine a character's weakness). Sorry about the confusion. Embarrassed

Expanding on Retarded Aging or Immortality. I'll call it Longevity and use John's House Rules and experience rule.

2-5 x maximum age. Let's say 150-375 life expectancy. Start the character at 18 and roll 1d100. Add that to the age for the total. Let's make the character 68 yrs old to start but he looks to be in his 30's at most. Now take 1 xp per day after 18. ( I figure all those other experience points are used for learning the basics of life) Start the character at 5th level and the bonuses that go along with it like training, inventing points etc. Nice power if used well and more powerful if combined with something based off level like Telekenisis or Heightened attack.

Here's a few new ones.

Catfall : While conscious, the character will always land on his feet

Die Hard: The character's is extremely hard to kill, and has 2x his normal hit points.

Perfect Balance: The character has perfect balance, allowing him to walk atop walls, along ropes, and similar surfaces, without falling.

Speaking of retarded aging, it seems all super heroes have that power. Spider-Man and his contemporaries haven't age that much since the 1960s!
