  Any get Doom Patrol #1?  I just read it and I have to say, I was a bit miffed at how callous they were.  I won't spoil it till later, but if you read it you will understand what I mean.    I hope its part of the story, that they are all becoming detached, cause other wise, they are real assholes.

The Doom Patrol have been revamped more times than I can remember. I've given up tryin' to cope w/them.

It's funny cuz they were often compared to the X-Men because their leader was smart and used a wheelchair and they considered themselves outsiders, but powerwise the originals were a lot like the FF.

Strong, orange, and made out of metal: Robotman
Strong, orange, and made out of rock: Thing

A skilled driver who turns into energy being: Negative Man
A skilled driver who turns into flame being: Human Torch

Stretching powers (and growth): Elasti-Girl
Stretching powers (used creatively): Mr. Fantastic

Stock female character who is insecure/unfeminine because of her powers: Elasti-Girl
Stock female characters who is insecure/helpless because her powers: Invsible Girl
(Ms. Farr and Ms. Storm/Richards were two different takes on the B.F.'s 1963 Feminie Mystique)

Smart leader: Chief and Mr. Fantastic

The two teams could easily merge into the Fantastic Patrol!

The line-up includes: Robot-Thing, Negative Torch, Elasti-visble Girl, and Mr. Chief

I picked up the first issue, and really wasn't impressed. I'll give it a few more issues, but if things don't change, I'll be dumping it.

The art in the Metal Men  back up is gorgeous, but man,  I never liked that "Bwahaha" humor.  Nothing is worse than unfunny comedy.

I hope they tie all incarnations of the Doom Patrol together in this series.  Like  Negative Man being Rebis, and the Cheif being a total manipulative bastard who was beheaded etc...
