Way back in high school one of my friends came up with the idea of creating a "Battle Sheet".  It caught on, and now every PC keeps one (so that the GM doesn't have to keep track of the PC's Hit Points, Power, Armor, Invulnerability, Charges spent, etc.

Here's an example of what one looks like (I chose a simple one)...
