Well I am hoping all turns out well, because next year I may want to go.  Not really to role play, but to go to their spa!  I was checking it out online and ooooooooooh how nice that would be!!  LOL

They gave me a huge discount for the fuck up, so I am happy.  They also promised to buy me Chicago Style Hotdogs. I am easy.

I just ate and had a nice conversation with one of Gygax family members.  I then jumped into a Call of Cthulu game that was set on the titanic.  Since  I was not registered, I had to play the 70 year old English female noseybody, but it was fun.

Had drink at the bar, which closed when I walked in.  I guess I smell from Cthulu or something.    Everyone looks like the guy from the comic book store on the Simpsons.

I will take pictures tomorrow.    Its fun, but everyone seems to be off to bed and its only 11 o clock.  I thought the games were 24 hours.     I guess it picks up tomorrow.

Oh well, off to bed.   I am tired.

Ask Gygax if he's ever heard of Pavilion, the master of the D&D universe.

Which one of the Gygax kids, as one of his sons is a Captain in the Army, and was deployed to Iraq last I saw. Not sure about the others.

Any one of the kids.  And if they haven't heard of the mighty Pavilion (my wizard in my D&D playing days) then smite them where they stand!

(by the way I'm obviously joking around, they will look at you funny if you really ask)

So from the few minutes I talked to John this afternoon (between turns on his 6 hour game... lol) he sounds like he's having fun.  And he's happy to be having a V&V game this evening as well, thanks to Majestic!!!

Me.. I am enjoying LOTR on Bluray on our new PS3 and big TV!!  The extended editions of course!

Next year I think a bunch of you should go and make it a big thing.  I think that would totally rock!

Hopefully there won't be any issues next year, and I'll be able to get out there.

Going to bed now, at 5 to midnight.  I played a six hour game of Divine Right that was fun until the last turn.   Then the Ref let a guy go back and re do something that  caused me a chance at winning.  I didn't want to be dick and argue, but I feel once you  declare your turn to be over, you shouldn't be able to say, Oh I forgot to do that, can you hand me back the dice so I can  mess up your chance to win...  Don't declare your turn over, till its over!!!!

And we played V&V and Majestic ran the game.  I was very nervouse about being a "backseat driver".  Maj asked me to help with some of the people that were new to the game.  There was an older guy who sat next to me with a character that was almost exactly like mine.  At first I was a bit ticked that my orginality was wiped out, but we kind of became a team within the team and it  became fun.

Its also fun to see how other people play and what house rules they develope.

Then Majestic, his friend Tobin, and I sat up and talked past games, house rules, and V&V in general.   That was my favorite part of the day.      We made plans to have them play their characters with me using my house rules against a bunch of villains.  That should be fun.

Oh, and they are going to take me to breakfast tomorrow, as this place doesn't start serving food till 11. Smiley

Yea, but I got a cool key chain from the guy selling insurance in the hotel lobby, during our lunch break. Seriously guys, wish I was there. Sad

I have to admit I had a lot more fun than I expected after Jeff had to cancel.  Meeting John was a highlight, and it was awesome to tell stories and hear tales from our campaigns and games over the years.  He's a great guy that was really fun to hang with, and it was very helpful to have him at my game on Friday night (to assist the newer/returning players).

As Paul and the others have long attested, this is true.  He gave me a key to his hotel room and I barely had to charm him.   Wink

Yeah normally offering him a taco does the trick.

I will post my photos and talk more about the con tomorrow.  I am still super tired from coming home late, getting up for work, then going straight to some stupid class till 7 pm.

I have a bunch of story updates to post in the  chronicles thread too.

Yeah, I came home, went to bed, got up, went to work, then (after taking an hour or two to put stuff away), slept for nearly three hours, then went to the airport to pick up Tobin, then came home and slept more.

It takes a day or two of rest to catch up after so much gaming and travel!

Welcome, dark star/hidufel!

Hey hidufel and John, do you remember how we were talking about the GM that did both the Marvel Heroic Roleplaying and John's Call of Cthulu?  I'm reading through the rules right now, and he was doing things totally wrong!  Not just a little bit either, he was missing out on a lot of different stuff that has to do with the basic mechanics of the game.

I think it's still going to be an excellent game (the Marvel one, that is), and I'm excited to give it a try.

Ok  Saturday Hidufel and Majestic picked me up for some breakfast at a really cute dinner.     Then we played some split up for a while but met up for a V&V game with Keyes later on.

After that we talked for a bit more then  called it a night.

Sunday we did some quick gaming, I GMed with Hidufel playing Neutron and Majestic playing Majestic.  They were curious about my house rules so we just did  a few turns of combat.  I put them up against Dragonfist and Leo the Lion.  They took them out without much sweat.

I went to the airport via the hotel shuttle.    Got home late and it took me a few days to get back to normal.

All in all it was  fun and I am looking forward to going again next year.

I will post my pics when we find the download cord!   Can't find it as its packed away in some box after last months move.

Just take the card out of the camera and stick it in the slots in your monitor.  Loser.

I tried  that but my photos are not on the card but in the memory of the camera itself.      I have to figure out this thing.

That sounds very strange, but you can probably use the camera settings to transfer the photos from the camera to the card and then take the card out. Then change the default settings to save to the card going forward.

Here is Majestic running a game of V&V, with Keyes in the blue hat, and me in the corner.   I am sure Majestic remembers the other player's names.
