Agent Omega was informed about Eddy Dolan by Rita Schwartz, CHESS’s newest occult expert.   It was thought that if he talked to someone else who came back from the dead, and then maybe he could learn something, anything about himself.
   
Omega went to Flushing, Queens, to visit the Eidolon along with Coldsteel, and Modi (who was back up incase something went wrong).  Supervising was CHESS angel, and public relations whiz, Bree Cake, and Rita Schwartz was brought with them for consulting.

   Getting to the cemetery was easy.   They waited until night fall to talk to Eddy, as the cemetery closed then.  This way they didn’t have to deal with the crowd of curiosity seekers, spiritualist, worshipers, and skeptics.

  Modi shined his light of truth on Dolan and found him to be speaking the truth.  The guy did die, and come back, and is slowly rotting and falling apart.   And to make it worse, the guy has no idea why. 

    A rookie cop let it split that there was a serious of grave robberies and corpse mutilations going on in some of the fresher graves.   They went to investigate.  Omega went off to investigate and found a mausoleum opened.  He went in and saw the body of a partially eaten cop.  He called for back up and went in.  He saw that part of the cement wall was broken from the outside in.  There was a tunnel in the earth behind the hole.  He crawled in, even though it smelled like, well a whole in the ground in a cemetery.

   Modi and Coldsteel pushed their way in front of Omega and were the first to encounter what could only be called ghouls.  The three ghouls were huddled in a small dug out chamber at the end of the tunnel.  They had a small pile of mutilated corpse flesh and bones by them.   They looked timid and put up no fight.

   They warned the heroes about Flannery.  They said he was like them, but violent.   Flannery burst out of the tunnel wall that he had dug and attacked.   He was strong, but not as strong as the three heroes. He was beaten to a greasy smear.

  The ghouls gave it all up.   They were terrified.  They said they were enslaved to a vampire named Greenburg. Greenburg had turned them into his remoras.   That is, they feed on his leftovers.   Vampires drink blood, and then the ghouls come in and eat up the corpse left over.  All neat and tidy.   
   
   And then there is Flannery.  Flannery is like a ghoul but more powerful, and more violent.  He is a ghast.  Ghasts watch over the vampire’s body during daylight and destroy all those that cause it harm.   

   They find the Greenburg mausoleum and open it, finding it well kept.  The only disturbance is one of the locks on one of the tombs is broken off.  The open the tomb and find the body of Allan Greenburg, a fellow recently dead (two years only).  The body is rotten, as expected, but it has dirty hands and clean, un spoiled clothes. 


  Modi is about to unleash his light on the corpse when a black smoke filters into the room, and seeps into the corpse by its ears, nose and mouth.   The corps looks suddenly refreshed, like it turned recently dead and attacks.

  Modi was grabbed and he smashed the thing while it bit his neck.   The vampire’s teeth couldn’t seem to penetrate the godlings flesh, at first.   Soon, however Greenburg did taste the Aesir’s blood.   Modi felt that the bite felt oddly good, and some part of him wanted the vampire to feed off him.   He shrugged off the bite and smashed the vampire to bits.   That same black smoke seeped out of the corpse’s mangled remains and drifted off.

The team then went to call the local police to report the grave robbing solved, when they heard Bree scream.

  They went back to the Eidolon, and saw that Bree was stabbed by Rita.  Rita was also chanting something and waving her left hand about.  And if this wasn’t bad enough,Melvin Sharples, the strongest boy in the world, attacked.

Modi took on Sharples, while Coldsteel and Omega tried to rescue Bree.

Before they could get to Agent Cake, Rita summoned what can only be called amud elemental.   The creature was huge and it took the concentrated effort of Omega and Coldsteel to even halt its progress.

Modi and Melvin went toe to toe, trading blows that would have crushed airliners.  Modi went berserk and activated his father’s belt, increasing his strength infinitely.

Modi’s next blow sent Melvin out into traffic.   Modi landed on him and hit him so hard the street rippled and  nearby buildings took some structural damage.    Modi then hit Melvin out into the Atlantic.  He jumped after him as he was berserk, and not in total control of his actions.

    Coldsteel and  Agent Omega defeated the  Mud Monster and figured out that poor Rita Schwartz was somehow possessed by the dead sorcerer Dr. Nadir.   Nadir wanted to exchange bodies with the lovely Ms. Cake.

     Stopping the ritual,   the two saved Ms. Cake, but she did suffer a horrible stab.   Mannish was banished from Rita’s body, freeing the 63 year old Florida resident from a terrible ordeal.

    A few questions remain.  Is this the end of Dr. Nadir?   Where did Melvin land?   Who turned Greenburg into a vampire?  And what did Eddie Dolan mean when he said that something evil awaits on the other side?
