While doing paperwork Col. Marshal Strong is hardly paying attention to the news.   The name Richard Franklin catches his attention.    He looks up to see that San Jose Local News is covering a fire.   The fire broke out a half hour ago in the house where Richard Franklin was being kept safe.   
   Franklin was the boy the Dark Warrior pulled from his old universe with his cosmic powers.
   Strong called Dark Warrior and Wally flew off to see if the boy is safe.  Wally Spec, aka the Dark Warrior, feels responsible for the boy's safety.
    When he gets to the fire he sees a bat winged figure flying through the fire, spreading it about with glee.
    The Dark Warrior is suddenly attacked by some unseen force.  He sees a stretching man zooming up at him with fists ready for battle.
     The attackers seem familiar to the Dark Warrior.   A stretching man,  a flaming teenaged boy, and an unseen force, hmm.  They seem to possess the same powers as Wally's one time foe turned ally Fantastic Man.  Richard Franklin did claim that Fantastic Man was his uncle...
   Scion arrives carrying  Elusion and Col. Marshal Strong to the seen.  Elusion animates two steel balls and launches one at the unseen force he detects.   Marshal Strong fires his Synaptic Disrupter at Dr. Elastic, causing him to fall to the ground.  The Inhuman Torch fires twin bolts of Hellfire at Elusion, missing him by a hair.    The Invincible Woman, using her powers of invisibility and force-feilds, attacks Dark Warrior sending him into a berserker rage.
    Scion punches the Inhuman Torch out, and then ties him up with a stop sign.
   Marshal Strong readies another blast with his snapper, when The Lump runs out of the flaming house and throws a volley of punches at Strong.  All miss.
   Elusion flings his flying animated steel ball at The Inhuman Torch, who freed himself from his bindings, tearing him to pieces.
   Elusion fires his snapper at the Lump, causing him to fall to his knees.  A berserk Dark Warrior blasts Dr. Elastic with a few vibroblasts.   Using a long winded speech,  Dr. Elastic explains why vibratory blasts won't hurt him.   Dr. Elastic then stretches and observes everyone's weakness.
     Scion grabs the Lump and flies him out into space.  She tries to toss him towards the moon, when she realizes that her hands are stuck to the Lump.  It seems his armor secrets some sort of adhesive.
     Col Strong fires again with his snapper and hits the Invincible Woman, he then grabs her with a sleeper hold.  Dark Warrior, recovers his sanity after recovering  from being unconscious.
     Elusion steps back and notices that Richard Franklin's eyes are glowing, and the Inhuman Torch is reforming.   He animates the fire truck Franklin is sitting on and absorbs his super power.   He realizes that Franklin has the power to create soulless beings that are subservient to his will.   He can create four beings;  The Lump,  The Inhuman Torch, The Invincible Woman and Dr. Elastic.     Figuring out that the Fatal Four are simulacrums, he  grabs Strong's snapper and fires at Richard Franklin.
    The Invincible Woman goes berserk and blasts both Marshal Strong and Elusion's rifle.
    The newly reformed Inhuman Torch fires hellfire at Marshal Strong and misses.   Scion flies full speed into the Mohave Desert with the Lump.  The Lump responds with a shout of "its time to take your lumps!" and punches Scion.  She is about to smash him into the ground again, when he disappears.
    Just at that moment,  Elusion wills the simulacrums to disappear using the absorbed power from Richard Franklin, aka, Fantastic Boy.
   Sedating Fantastic Boy,   they bring him to the Black Mesa for safekeeping.
    
   While at the Black Mesa,  Elusion, Scion and Col. Strong study the Dark Warrior's powers to see if they can find a way to send  Fantastic Boy back to his universe.   Elusion deduces that its' impossible at this point as the energy expenditure needed is beyond Dark Warrior's ability.     Elusion spends a month building a "cosmic energy enhancer" to amplify Wally's power cosmic.      The machine cuts his power expenditure in half.   Still, the machine is too bulky so Elusion tries to reduce it to make it more easily moved.   Some power surge happens and Wally Spec's power cosmic is amplified and the machine misfires.
    When the smoke clears,  they realize that there is another person in the room.   A person the Dark Warrior recognizes right away.   Its the person who destroyed his universe.  The person Wally most hates.   The misfire has summoned... The Adversary!
