Glare????

Magnum, Modi, Glare, Kid Nemesis and  Agent Omega went to the party as representatives of CHESS.  Agent Bree Cake also went as their handler and to address the media.   Things started off swimmingly as Captain Atlas and Magnum had an arm wrestling compitition for chartity.  ( Captain Atlas won,  .

   Glare had his hands full trying to get  Carter Manning, in his new Manta Man suit, to stop being a pest and just do something constructive.  Omega thought that Carter was wrong, as Manta Man was clearly suffering from  abandonment issues.

   Kid Nemesis was getting antsy, and went off on his own to explore this massive ship.  He found an unlocked door to a room full of emergency radiation suits and he went in.  He found Justine Calloway, aka the Velvet Fox snooping inside.  She flirtted with him, and he agreed to help her scoop out some information.  Since her release from jail she has been working for the National Enquirer and is digging up dirt on Mr. Manning.
   
     They open another door, and find a tied, gagged and helpless Justine Calloway!  This freaks out Kid Nemesis.  The Justine with him says that that is an imposter and she goes to ungag her.   Nemesis notices that  Calloway's hand slightly goes into the bound Calloway's skin as if she were a hologram.   Nemesis goes to touch her and sees that she is not real.   He goes to leave the room when the body bursts into flame and incinerates.  He hears guards coming down the hall, and braces for action.

    Glare convinces Manta Man to stop bothering his father, and he goes to his room to use a computer.  Agent Omega follows him.   Omega waits and finally peeps in and finds that Manta Man has lazered his way out of the ship and is in the water.

     Glare, Modi and Magum hear over a security guard's com that "grampa's room has been disturped, and its time to adance the agenda."    This puts them on alert.

    They grab the guard and  question him.  He tells them nothing, other than that they will all die tonight.   He giggles and they pretty much leave him tied up, a bit freaked.

     Magnum, hears from Omega that "the fish is out of the thank" and  he jumps into the water to see what Manta Man is up too.   Modi jumps in also. 
   
       Modi and Magnum destroy the long drill/pump that is boring into the sea bed and Manta Man climbs into the bearings to find a way to the engines of the ship.

      Kid Nemesis and the Velvet Fox find themselvs facing five armed guards.  He takes out half of them, and the Fox hits one and flees.  The Kid finishes off the rest and calls in what he has seen.    The rest of the team hear his voice, but not his words.    They hear him bragging about "Knocking Boots"  something out of character for him.

    Magnum finds that the sea is inhabited by bodies  coming from deep under the sea.  He and Modi make their way back onto the ship.   At this point Philip Manning announces that "THE STARS ARE RIGHT" and fireworks flare up and the guards drop their tuexdos to reveal black robes.   All the workers stand in rapture as an army of Deep Ones and Star Spawn Mind Flayers crawl out of the sea and trie to make it on to the deck.

   Agent Omega starts fighting  the cultist guards but soon realises that they are not even fighting back.    Magnum flies into  Philip Manning, stabbing him through the shoulder, sending him flying.    Modi jumps to the deck, smashes through the floor and assists  Kid Nemesis.   Nemesis and  Modi see that something is casting illusions and messing with their comminications.   They find an old semi human corpse that seems to shine with hidden intellegence.   Modi deterimins that it is alive in a sense, and Nemesis attacks this lich, but accidentaly punches a hole in the wall.   Deep Ones and Illithids come pouring into this hole.   Nemesis pushes the corpse at the enemies, and they grab it and pull it into the mass of arms and tentacles.   
   
    Glare calls this in to CHESS, now free from the Lich's interference and they send Gates to create an excape route for the passengers, as well as delivering the Conche Horn that the Ancient Mariner used to control his Deep One Army.

     Magnum checks on Manning, and is struck by his wife,  the superhero and member of the Mighty Seven, the Wonder.
   
     Magnum, not wanting to hurt the woman who is only defending her husband, throughs Manning into Gate's er, um Gate, and the Wonder flies into to to see for her husband's well being.

     The other members of the Mighty Seven,  Flash Mercury,  The Magnet,  Captain Atlas,  Jolt, and Doc Thunder, hold off Deep Ones and assist the passengers to Gate's teleportation portal.

     Magnum then creates a magnetic shield to hold off  the Undersea Army and Magnet then bolster's this feild.
 
     Things seem to be coming under control when the sea buckles, and from the depths comes  the Great Cthulu, terrible and magnificient.

      Modi goes berserk at the sight, and activates his father's belt of strength.  He leapst at the Great Old One, with such strength that the ship nearly overturns.    He hits the beast with a mighty force.   Magnum and Captain Atlas follow his lead,  and Glare rockets off as well.

     Omega continues makes his way down to Kid Nemesis, who is fighting off Illithids and Deep Ones that are making their way onto the ship through the hole in the cabin below Magnum's shield.

     Magnum, Captain Atlas and Modi are dealing out damage that would flatten mountains,  while Modi is taking damage that would kill a god, that is, if that god didn't manage to pull himself together and flee before he was pulled apart by the tencles of the beast.

   Modi jumped at the ship so hard, he bashed through the deck and into the nuclear reactor at its heart.   Luckily, Manta Man, had deactivated the core, or the ship and all aboard would have died in searing nuclear death!

    Glare tells Magnum to search the sea bottom for the Elder Sign that imprissoned the Great Old One for all these centuries.   He goes down to the water.  Manta Man says his sonar powers would be a good assistance, and goes with him.

  This leaves Captain Atlas alone against Chthulu.    Senseing that he is loosing the battle,  Captain Atlas grabs the creature and flys off into space.     CHESS uses the Argus Array to watch them fly off.  He slammed them both into the moon, and leaving debris and scattered flesh of the Chthulu all over the lunar surface.  He then picked up the monster and flew off.   The final images were of a hoard of smaller winged creatures seperating the two, and carrying them both off.   No one could see as to where they went.


  Modi collapsed and required imediate surgery or he would bleed out.   Magnum had no choice but to close the two wounds.      Modi was saved, but lies in a coma, fighting off the strange infections that came to him from this terrible battle.

    There was no corking this battle.  The people saw too much.   The  joyful times of the last two years are pretty much over as headlines talk of the "Monsters of the Deep"   And "Its True, Aliens Want Us Dead".

     Philip Manning lies comatose, and not even Nexus can communicate with him.   Many Cultist were arrested and many confirmed that Manning was under the influence of Qam, a mummy he unearthed in Missouri.   This mummy was of a pre human race that worshipped the Great Old Ones and hated humans for their flagrent disregard not for just the gods, but for his one superior race.
   
   CHESS, the USA Navy and many private instututions are ralling funds for expeditions to search this area of the South Pacific, for its pretty much confirmed that the fabled city of R'lyeh is real and is hiding secrets in the deep.
