cool pic Ranger who did that?

Why this thread's very own Joe Singleton, author and artist of Ad Astra and other cool storylines.

Joe was great at taking all the symbolic elements I was looking for and come up with a unique creation. I wanted the look of a 'professional' uniform. Like policemen, firefighters, etc. The U.S. Air Force symbol, old school flight goggles transformed into a high-tech set of visors, and a touch of the patriotic hero look without going garish. I was very pleased and the print he sent me is awesome.

Thanks again Joe. Now I have this idea . . .  Wink

I'd love to see it, Ranger, but it currently says it's been deleted or moved in Photobucket.  Cry

he also had a customized fighter pilot helmet with HUD, navigational instrumentation, polarized lenses, communicator, radar, and enough telescopic vision to function at hypersonic speeds. later i was like "duh!" and added wristmounted 50cals fed from belt

I've just started reading them (and they're awesome).  Does anybody have any idea how many panels there are?  I'm just curious if there's a way to note or mark where you're at (are they broken down into chapters or anything?)

I just read it until I had to stop, then Bookmark/Favorite it. Then picked it back up and did same by deleting old Bookmark and making new one when I stopped again.

Took sometime but yeah ... it sucked when I caught up  Cool

I can't do that at work, though.  I have a "roaming profile" and use completely different CPUs each day.  I'm unable to even save Favorites, I think. Sad

Hmmm, I don't know if there's a bookmark thing, let me look in the add-ons and see what I can find. you could note the date of the strip, if nothing else and start from that date.

Still working weekly for the time being.
We just had a major change at my job and now I work Mon-Fri instead of Fri-Mon. I already miss my 3-day weekends, every week. Probably means I've seen my last movie for awhile, but it might mean I can do a convention or two, if they're not too far a drive from the Dallas area.

Okay, I added a bookmark thing on Ad Astra. Somebody try it out and see how it works. It's down on the left by the blog entry section.

There's a new installment up. I'd actually like to see several of these combined into Zip files, similar to what Joe did with the history, and put up for download. That way you can read little segments, and get a complete story.

I'd really like to get some additional info on the various German/Nazi villains depicted in the last few updates, as I really like their look.

I think winged dude looks cool as hell. I'm not sure what Joe is calling him, but the first name that pops into my mind is Eisen Adler  (Iron Eagle). I also like the cyclops looking guy, and the wolf. Have you seen his WWII American characters?

They're Liberator, Sky Rocket, Torpedo, Bombshell (a female), and one other guy who's name I can't remember. Liberator and Bombshell are the 70's era Liberator's parents.

He's running behind on updating Ad Astra, as his work schedule has changed. Plus he's working on some other material as well.

OK, I spoke with Joe over the weekend, and between being sick, the holidays, work, and getting caught up on some comissions, he was swamped, and then he hit a "block" and just couldn't get back into the swing of things. He's feeling motivated now, and has started working on Ad Astra again, as well as his other online comic, Hero Blog, and should be posting some updates soon.

Well I talked with Joe, and due to his work schedule, he's been running behind, as well as feeling a blah. He's got several pages of new Ad Astra material that still needs to be inked, colored, and scanned in,, but he's got no idea of when he'll get around to it.  Sad
