Villains in the Guardians Campaign

Having a 22 year old campaign does have its drawbacks, and one of them is that there's just WAY too many villains.  This weekend I took a picture of all of the supervillains that are currently active in the campaign.

This doesn't include ones that have been killed, nor does it reflect all of the non-powered thugs and minions.  I even left out some of the highly skilled humans (if they didn't have a code name and costume).  It also excludes most monsters, creatures, and aliens, counting only the ones that could be accurately classified as a supervillain.

I also only included one version of each character, even if they had multiple counters for different forms (like a secret identity, or if they could make duplicates or illusions or the like).  I included most pets (I think), but skipped most other props and vehicles.

So this is all of the Evil paranormals, the vast majority of them coming from the many published works.  All told there are around 500 unique ones, I believe.

My plan is to remove a bunch of them to make things easier, figuring many of them should have retired or been incarcerated or killed.  But before I did I thought I'd share how many there actually are at this point.

Oh yeah, quite a few of them, actually.  Here's a sample of art I've done.  On each of these I pencilled, inked, and colored (with colored pencils) the following:

And this is just a small portion of the ones I've drawn.  I do them on comic backing boards, and I've got five+ full sheets that way (some with more than 50 on them).

I'll attach a copy of one of those, just to show the process.

The only list I have is an old one, written (messily) on paper.

Wow,those are fantastic. You should live in my area so I can take advantage of all your skills. I dig the drawings. Do you do any professional stuff or is this just for your game that you draw?

I keep threatening to turn a game session into a (homemade) comic book. Would that I had the time to follow through.

Thanks, Matt.  No, I just do (occasional) art for V&V.  Nowadays it's often easier just to find a quick image on the net and to slap it into Word, resize it, and cut it out, glue it to cardboard, and voila', you've got an almost instant counter!
