Thanks. I'm working on 2039a, Homefront, and it has been a challenge to stay in the fight...

That's awesome.  I love this kind of smooth, thick line art for my V&V characters.
My first thought was Power Blast, but looking at her hair, and face, I'd say Flame Powers.  Like her face gets super red, blends with her costume, and her hair gets all flame-y when she blasts.  (Her flight comes from the Flight power, so she can save PR on her blasts lol).

Good work.  Do you have a site where we can see more?

I should huh. I was maintaining a deviant art page. http://alabaster-knight.deviantart.com

I should drop more there.

I do too. They started out life in 1982 with different codenames, but eventually I figured them out. Thanks.

I love your art.  Very 1980's Jeff Dee.

At its best, your art combines the best of Jeff Dee circa 1982  Smiley and the best of Patrick Zircher circa 1985  Smiley

So here's the funny thing. That stretch (1982-1985) were my formative years in terms of style. And what was I doing?

Well for a few years before that and up through it, I was using (read: stealing) my brother's drafting pens (read: full set of Koh-I-Noor/retail big bucks at the time) to ink pencils inspired by comics, however...

I had my head in RPGs a lot and one of the artists whose work caught my eye was Jeff Dee. Dee's art tended to be a little cleaner than his coworkers at TSR and stood off the page by 1982 with a style his own. It was inspiring because it communicated fun pretty well.

Then spending as much time as I did with Pat Zircher. You know what the hook was for drawing me to Pat? When we first started hanging and playing and drawing (well he had been drawing for years-), I noticed his/his brothers' Champions stable of character sheets had a crap-ton of Marvel and DC character's in them that Pat had done original portraits. I was especially taken with Walt Newell/Stingray and - Pat gave him to me. That was it, I was hooked and had to up my game.

Funny how life works. Smiley

you are definitely inspired by your friend.
I see a lot more Z in there than I do D.

I'd be interested in seeing you do something dynamic and less posed... an action shot/scene from one of your games.

Or even a page ala comic scene akin to the back covers of the mods.

Great work... your inks are incredibly strong. Your line work is solid and detailed.

Nice stuff.

Thanks G7.
Most scenes I do for the adventure books (especially the covers/back/front) I try and support the narrative or allude to what is in the content without giving it away. I should do more straight combat scenes and panel flows in my interiors. I particularly like the covers for Sands of Time and Always Outnumbered.

Truth: I hate inking, but between having my digital pen to enhance my brush, it is more palatable.  Smiley
I'm always second guessing proportion and perspective, and often fly blind in composition with no ref material. I should be using more references because I simply don't draw often enough to sustain a consistent flow. But I'm getting there.

I see crazy amounts of Byrne pencil and build, and Byrne-Austin line influence in your work and enjoy it too. I'd be interested in seeing more of your work with finishes. I'd love to see a collaboration of you and Joe Singleton.

Joe's got similar influences and enjoys finish work. It's a bit loose and thick, but it works. I like it.
