Last week a mountain popped up in West Miflin, Pennsylvania. Monsters have been spotted. The epicenter is West Mifflin High School.  The FBI will send its MetaForce to investigate. Will Powers, Patty Dane and a new team of Haywire, Singularity and Mindgames will spearhead the investigation.

Due to the numerous sightings of centaurs, cyclops, satyrs, they will be taking a stodgy British Greek mythology expert with them. The fact that he spent 9 months in Miskatonic Asylum shouldn't bother anyone.

So William Powers was nervous.  His bandages were to be removed today.  The doctors were happy his eyesight wasn’t damaged.  They snipped them off, and they were shocked!
Will’s face was normal!

There was no explanation for that.

Will went back to the Colorado base.  Haywire, Singularity and Mindgame were all happy to see Power’s was restored to full health.   Their happiness was short lived as Patty Dane, Will’s partner showed up with a new dossier.  She showed them that somehow a mountain grew in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania a week ago.
Sightings of mythological monsters have been reported, and couldn’t be dismissed as photos have been flooding local newspapers.    A van was commissioned and the new group drove off.

Pulling off the highway after sundown, Mindgame saw a unicorn.  Everyone else mocked him and said he was overtired.   They pulled up to a motel where they were to meet with mythology expert, Nigel Thornbuckle.  The British professor was pleasant, but a bit stodgy.    Will Powers spotted his anti-psychotic meds.   He read that he did time in the Miskatonic.  Powers assumed he was a consultant, not a patient.

The party was awoken by a loud crash.   Haywire dashed out and saw three giant cyclops wearing varsity jackets bashing into a room.   He tried to talk to one, and the cyclops was impressed with Haywire’s “rippedness”.

Singularity ran into the room and saw a cyclops holding Mr. Su, and elderly man screaming for his life.   The cyclops bit Mr. Su, crushing his skull.  Mrs. Su was nearly catatonic in fear and horror.  Singularity was properly enraged and rushed the Cyclops, trying to grapple him to the floor.
Mindgames ordered on of the monsters to stand down, which was a waste of time.  He opened fire.  The cyclops barely noticed.  Haywire dodged some swings from one of the cyclops’ stop sign he was using as club.
Will Powers noticed Nigel standing in the corner with a lampshade on his head speaking Greek in two distinct different voices.    Powers figured the stress was causing a psychotic episode.

Singularity punched the cyclops out, while Haywire smashed another with a car.   They turned to the third when Nigel walked out of the room.  He was different.  He was scary.

Nigel was wearing a black helmet, pale white skin, black eyes, with red dots, a black toga with jewels embedded in the trim.  He waved his hand and called out for Infiri.

Next thing the air was full of dull moans.   The ground opened up and hands pulled the cyclops to the ground.  Heads emerged and bit at the giant’s flesh.
Haywire panicked and jumped!

Mindgames fired at some of the zombies.  He was not sure what exactly was going on.

Next Nigel transformed into a younger, healthier version of himself.  He was wearing a polished bronze helm, and a white toga and sandals.  He announced himself as the Olympian.   Everyone was dumbfounded.

He then transformed into what he called the Avatar of Dionysus.  His helm sprouted vines and then grapes.  His toga turned purple and was lined with grapevines.  He wielded a staff with a pinecone and grapevines.  He then looked and said that Haywire was up north.  They ran off to help their missing friend.   Will Powers called in on his walkie talkie for help with the subdued giants and for help for poor Mrs. Su.

Haywire crashed into a tree, knocking it over and face up on to the ground.  He rubbed his eyes and saw a beautiful young nude woman standing over him.  She called herself Mandy and leapt on him.  She kissed his neck so hard it bled.  Haywire pushed her off and she was insulted.  She grew talons and slashed at him.    Haywire power blasted her into the forest.

The party showed up, and Singularity, of course, laughed that Haywire was always in his underwear.

They decided to come back into the forest in a few hours when it was daylight.

They had a quick nap, some breakfast and went off.  They walked for hours up a winding marble stair way.  Mindgames confirmed they were being watched the entire way.    They found themselves at the top, above the clouds.  The school was half school, half Greek temple.   They approached the entrance and were stopped by a three human headed dog.  It ask for a hall pass.

Mind Games created the memory of giving it a hall pass, and it argued.  One of the head said it didn’t see one, while another said it did.  The third just said that she was tired of the other two constantly fighting.   They let it be and crept passed.

They went down the main hallway of the school.  They all got chills and saw a small red door marked “boiler room”.   No one wanted to open it.

Mindgames scanned and found hundreds of minds, screaming in horror and pain beyond it.  He used his powers to calm everyone down.    He felt the minds relax.   Everyone sighed in relief.  This was short lived as the red door began to slowly open.

A skull wearing a baseball cap and overalls looked out.   He reprimanded them all saying, “You don’t want to mess with what is down here.   Go on, scat.”  With that the door slammed shut.

Everyone was still calm from Midgame’s power.   It’s a good thing too, as the gym doors burst open and a woman, bleeding from the neck popped out.  She was gorgeous and dressed in a bloody toga.

Will Powers ran to assist her.  Had she not been made calm by Mindgame’s power she would have bled out already?

Will was frantic to help her, but the wound was too severe.   Just then she was struck by a golden arrow.  The wound closed up.   Everyone turned to see the Olympian, now in golden robes, and a shining, glowing helmet.  He had a golden bow and fired arrows of light and power.

Inspired by this, Haywire and Singularity ran into the main auditorium.  Inside were the rest of the students, sitting in the bleachers, frozen.   There was blood and guts in the center of the gym and 13 hooded beings, each with a spear that radiated black light.  The leader of the pack, a male wearing a crown of thorns, mocked with a beautiful voice, “Why hello, and welcome.  The Wild Hunt was ready to leave, but you called us back.  “He spread black bat wings and flew.  He belched a lightning bolt, hitting Mindgames, knocking him out.

The Olympian, in the form of the Avatar of Apollo, rapid fired some arrows at Mindgames, healing him.
Haywire and singularly rushed in, punching Huntsmen.   Singularity noticed that they recoiled at her metallic touch.   The Master of the Hunt screamed at Mindgames for bringing iron here.   Mindgames threw his gun at him, which passed though the Master as if he was a ghost.
The Master landed and wrapped himself in his wings.  He opened his wings and a large, beetle looking creature ran out and engaged Singularity in hand to hand combat.

Mindgames ran out, and hid behind a door, loaded another gun, and was surprised to find himself stabbed in the throat by an invisible opponent.   The Master of the Hunt was also a master of illusion.
The Olympian fired healing arrows at Mindgames again.  Mindgames turned to face the metal shop.  This alerted everyone to the possibility of iron to use against the huntsmen.

Haywire ran in, grabbed a chain wrench, and punched out a handful of Huntsmen.

Mindgames went in, grabbed an awl, and stabbed a huntsmen with it.

Will Powers was being rat piled by a gaggle of Huntsmen.  He managed to evade them and found himself outside the scrum, and shot a few.

The Olympian transformed into the avatar of Hera.  He tried to command the Master, but he was talking to an illusion.    Still, the power of Hera inspired his comrades to fight harder.

He transformed into a hummingbird and managed to avoid being impaled by an invisible spear.

The Olympian spotted where the Master of the Hunt was hiding.  Mindgames rushed up and stabbed him.    The Master than stabbed Mindgames with two spears he was holding.    Mindgames collapsed.

Singularity’s foe faded as it was the Master’s power that was keeping it here.

Powers couldn’t stop the bleeding from the two open wounds on Mindgames.  In desperation, the Olympian transformed into the avatar of Hecate.  He looked like a slender vampire, with a silver bat winged helmet, and shimmering black robes that seemed to glow with moonlight.

He invoked dark powers and healed Mindgames.  The Olympian then inhaled and summoned powerful malevolent powers and restored West Mifflin to its proper state.  For the next few hours, the authorities had to round up confused townies, wounded students, and comfort the survivors.

The Olympian wandered off, in the form of the avatar of the Hecate, much to the consternation of Will Power.   He wielded too much power and his mind was too unstable.    He was a major boon today, but will this still hold true tomorrow?

Nice write up. You forgot one thing, Hecate doesn't like Commie bastards so Will Powers probably shouldn't follow her.  Wink
