D27,

Hell, I remember the good old days when Oni and I would play  V&V all night long...

Or in college when  Paulie and a few others would play 13 hours long,  sleep, eat, and then play another 13 hours.

Granted, Paulie was really into the cosplay aspect of the game.  I just wish he wouldn't play the Naked Avenger so often.   He often got confused with the villain BigFoot from the Six Million Dollar Man.

I am scary, very, very scary.

I've already started my initial posting blitz, but I'll put something here, too Smiley  I'm a long-time gamer, first ventures in 1981 with AD&D (a cleric), then in earnest in 1983.  Dabbled in just about every game and genre of the period.  I dislike Crawl of Cthulu (my avatar is very ironic) and most examples of horror genre.

My 80's-vintage V&V rulebook (2.0?) came unbound, so I hole-punched it and put in in a three-ring binder.  Still refer to it (and gotta find it now!).  Been meaning to get a new book, but haven't had a real impetus to (no games!).  Haven't played in ages, but every superhero webcomic I read, I start writing up the characters in my head in V&V terms.  How did I not find this forum sooner?!

Welcome!

I know how it goes not playing.
Every time I hear discussions about play it makes me yearn to do so again.

...and D27 has invited me to join some sessions in his games when I make it up north...
More afraid that if I do... I'll get the fever again... 3 hours is a long time to drive for a game. Even one as amazing as this one.

Doesn't matter that you didn't find this forum sooner.. Just matters that you found it.

...and D27 too! Though I should have told him about it...thought I did. Oh well.

Welcome guys.

I drive 168 hours so I can game once a month! I think it would be worth it.
I know the feeling of not playing for sure. The road is not friendly to habitual tabletop rpg players

Welcome, CoriolisSmiley

Say, did you ever play "The Coriolis Effect" back in the day?  I picked up that Champions adventure years ago, but have never done anything with it.

OK, so I missed the line about posting here first and this is my second.  Mea Culpa.

I've been playing RPGs since the early 80's and then Life Happened in the mid-90's. I just caught up with some friends and we decided to start up with, of course, V&V.

So now I am dusting my dice off and starting from scratch. Glad to have resources like this, which we could only dream of back then.

Looking forward to some good ideas and information!

Hello, new member introducing himself.

My real name is Christian.  I have been playing V&V since 1982 (so I got started on 2nd edition).  It was the first non-TSR RPG I played, and eventually evolved into my all-time favorite RPG. I played regularly from middle school through high school, tapered off a bit but still kept playing through my mid-20s, then couldn't find any players, then moved to a small rural town and really couldn't find any players.  So, for at least the last ten years, my playing has been limited to online gaming (PBEM & PbP), and not even much of that.  I've been largely reduced to incessant rules tinkering to satisfy my gaming fix.

I used to post on John's old forum, but never made the switch to the new forum (not sure why) until now.

Hey hey hey, new member incoming!

The name's Lolu, 16 years of age. I was recently introduced to tabletop RPGs via the Fantasy Flight Star Wars trio, and have been GMing those games for about a year. I've also recently grown a love for golden age DC comics, and found out about V&V while looking up various superhero RPGs. I've yet to actually find time to play any V&V adventures, but my friends and I have had a lot of fun designing characters and adventures. I'm eager to see what the seasoned veterans on this forum have to offer!  Cheesy

Welcome to the site, Lolu!  It's great to have one of the younger generation here!

My kids (and their friends) have played V&V for years (my youngest is almost 16) and they've had tons of fun generating random characters many, many times.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions that you might have!

Hey guys, I'm Wolf Girl! I love Tolkien, Marvel, Harry Potter, Supernatural, and anime. I also really love to read, draw, and play video games Smiley I've always been a fan of roleplaying, mostly on social media and such. Hopefully I'll have some new experiences with V&V!

She's not played at all in that campaign.  I started up a brief game (we played probably 4-5 times), replaying some of the Classics (Crisis, Death Duel, etc.).

Hello All!
I was searching the web for V&V stuff and ended up here and joined up. I got V&V back when I was a teenager along with Daredevils from FGU. I still remember reading the rulebook in the car as my mother drove home.
I have been a long time gamer and work in the gaming industry. I am looking forward to seeing V&V 3.0 and the new things that can be done for the universe. I often GM games or make my own games up and have played everything from AD&D to hard core miniatures games. I think V&V has a great mix of roleplaying and tabletop gaming and would really enjoy reading about your games and getting feedback about my own ideas. Thanks for hosting this site.

Just thought I'd say hi. I've been lurking here for a while, and finally decided to register (although it took me a while; I may need my eyes checked as it took me about a dozen tries to get the validation code correct!).

I started with rpg's back in grammar school with the old B/X boxed set of D&D and have played D&D, AD&D, Bushido, Space Opera, MSH, DC, Star Frontiers, Gamma World, Stormbringer, Champions, MERP, and, of course, V&V (which is one of my favorites and definitely my favorite super hero rpg). The last several years I haven't done much in the way of gaming at all, unfortunately.

I also take credit/responsibility for introducing Ironnerd to V&V. At least, that's how I remember it through the mists of history. Pretty sure it was me or maybe one of the other people I introduced it to showed it to him shortly thereafter. Hmmm. Did a fair bit of playing V&V together back in middle/high school, too. He was the one who originally suggested I check this site out.

"Shadowdragon" was the name of one of my very early characters. He was a martial artist who also had darkness control.

Looking forward to making some posts and chatting with people.

Sorry about that. just about everyone complains about it, but unfortunately even if I turn down the complexity of the CAPTCHA by one, a bunch of spammers and bots create accounts and it's a nightmare for me to manage.

Maybe I'll give it another shot though. I feel bad people are having trouble registering.
