Any chance Centerville Incident and Great Wall will go up on rpgnow? I like that I can get a preview of them before buying.

Really, I'm just looking for a preview irrespective of where it's hosted. I don't often buy pdfs, and the previews would really amount to a preview of Giant 4 as far as I'm concerned.

They'll be up on RPGNow sooner than later; at least that's what I am to understand.

I'm curious as to why Villains at Large isn't in Giant #4? It did come out before the 3 releases in that Giant. Was there a specific reason for that?

AK will have to answer that one, as I don't have a clue.

Gerry,
'Enemies at Large' is SKU2035b and slated to part of SKU2035/Giant No. 5. This was planned/done intentionally to try and synch up the printed version with an upcoming release/project also by Stewart Wieck called the Menagerie (referred to in the write-up for Wildebeast in Enemies at Large).

It was released in PDF because it was ready to go. And if we had means to get to the public, why not?  Cheesy

On another note:
I know I have been mentioning 'Poseidon Line' a lot over the past year and it's the kind of project that moves forward when I'm not juggling other projects.
It is nearing a completed stage and moving forward in general. Hopefully I can get it done soon. I have most of the art done, most of the maps, and much of the prose in between, so I can honestly say with a few more maps and descriptions of them that it would be 'done'...

Ak,

Thanks for the quick reply. I have Enemies at Large in pdf all ready (got it at RPGNow). I was just curious why it wasn't in the last Giant, since everything else was released in order. Makes sense to wait and release it with whatever else Stewart has in the works.

My Giant # 3 and 4 arrived in the mail today.  I've got to say, the more I handle these giant prints, the more I like them.  I'd almost be willing to trade out my collection (all the modules/supplements) for giant versions of them.

Interestingly, Scott and I spoke few moments ago, and another reason for the Giants (the primary one in fact after monetary considerations for production) was said again to me, and I realize I never repeated it here...

By presenting them three- or four-in-one format, the number of SKUs the game store has to order or carry is less risk for more V&V available to the players. It all comes down to shelf space. A store is more likely to want to carry a few Giants than 9 individual books.

I've got a list of most of the new products (at least through Enemies at Large) from both companies.  On my list I show 10 items I would consider "Supplements" and 12 that I would call "Adventures".

Of those 10 Supplements, I've/we've used (at least part of) 6 of them.

Of the 12 Adventures, I've run 6 of the 12.

Anyone else using these a bunch or getting any good stuff for your games from them?

There's some villains in Enemies at Large, that I would love to use, as well as some some supplemental rules in Danger in the Depths, and Vigilantes International. I've also got a couple of ideas for the Micro-Universe, and I LOVE Dr. Phage from in Broad Daylight. He is, hands down, one of my favorite villains.

Oh, I almost forgot, I really like the Gene Pool, as I think they'd make great recurring villains for a new team of heroes, and would love to see them make a comeback in another adventure (hint, hint, you listening Polar Boy?).

Lots of maps that can be used for other things... pretty fat little adventure. Home stretch to see if we can get it released in the next week or so.

Any day now... literally a couple things left -

I started a new job about a week ago and the training schedule is time consuming/study so I sketch and write on breaks when I can; the offer came right in the middle of the wrap-up checklist I was working to complete this one...

I know that James Satter is working on a project, but I'll let him discuss any details on that, likewise John Adams is also working through one. We are still looking forward to Stewart Wieck's next one as well...

I think there's still so much going on in the pipe that I can't tell what's really next.
For myself, I have aspirations to the govt agency & prison sourcebook next.
I was going to put in a Most Wanted style book that we had contemplated releasing as MW2...
I decided however recently that I just didn't want to do that and though I was truly honored to be given that project, I decided all those villains can be put in the aforementioned gov't sourcebook which would make that project beefy enough to print on its own and not need to wait for a Giant slot to open up.

Lastly, I have two adventures that are separate plots but can be played sequentially. The two adventures have the working titles of: Final Fight with the Furies and Black Soul Abyss. They contain the Super-Mega-Villain(s) whom Anarch (the Free Villain bonus for those who purchased VI) reports to, and also will have a great amount of cosmic adventures, NPCs and villains of course, and will have some universal theory, intergalactic mapping and content!

Whew... Smiley

It looks like Dr. Dedman has two more adventures in the works. Market Forces is in playtest, and he's working on the script for a second, unnamed adventure.

It hasn't been specifically being pushed; with the 'difficulties' that are out there, it hasn't been the foremost priority... Having said that, if enough feedback was generated to see the project in general demand, I'm sure that priority could change.

A few chapters/sections have been composed by myself, I will be playtesting them in the next few weeks and know of certain tweaks by Xmas.

Others have expressed interest and have a wonderful house rules documents. While they specifically work for their campaign, we would need to streamlined them into coherent add on chapters; it's tricky. There are some rules that change the mechanical scope of the game and wouldn't be advisable - these types are fewer than the majority that just need to be categorized or organized into what sort of rules they are. There are a lot of new powers that would mostly be cool, though a few that make some existing powers redundant would likely be left out. Some powers could be specifically added to the wildcard powers as suggested uses and methods - that could be a great chapter.
All those considerations for the project's sake would be run by the editor on the project - and that's not me Wink

All in all, it is still a desired goal and when it comes down to it, we have heard from a few folks. The reason we're leaving it somewhat open to submission is because we believe at the end of the day that some of the GMs out there with long standing campaigns are honestly qualified to weigh in, if not design, rules upgrades.

I will see about putting up a special link for submissions to this project specifically on the FGU site and if John wants to start a thread, that would be welcome too. A caution I would say is that the thread if made, should be for discussion of rules handling: Actual submissions should be sent in/emailed as word docs.
And a last thing I would say is that this rules companion must be written with the idea that any of the optional rules set forth would be truly optional, and if they include new stats, which I know I wrote a section with a new stat, that any rules written to incorporate that new stat should be designed to work *without* that stat and use existing material (which is how I've also been approaching this...).

I hope that this answers some of the questions... thanks for giving me the opportunity to answer.
