How great is the art by Lorena Soriano Garcia?

If you've picked up the latest V&V supplement called Citizen Report, then you've seen the art of Lorena Soriano Garcia. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you like her art?

I have to give her a 10. The art inside has an edgy feel reminiscent of Pre-Emptive Strike and Honor (Dragon's Claw). And the cover is the best cover I have EVER seen in V&V history.  Smiley

That cover is VERY nice indeed, and for some reason it reminds me of Space Opera or Traveller.

I'm not as impressed.  I think the cover is solid, but the markers are just "okay", in my book.  I do really like the small city pictures (like Club Masquerade) a lot.

I like the cover it seems current and fresh... as it should for a 2010 release. Smiley

I agree about the markers...

Ummm..

Your poll only goes from 4 to 11...

Kind of skewing the results?

The polls only allow for 8 slots--so I went with 4-11 for fun.

I like her art for the subject matter. I was told that was the reason she was chosen, i'e' sort of a cyberpunk/street feel. I think it's solid for this type of book, but an adventure book would have to be very Gotham for her to pull it off.

Completely agree.  Great to see that choices like this are being made and considered! (rather that just taking what's available).    Smiley

Yes, RPGs need good art.  Especially Superhero and SciFi games.  (Some of GURPS Supers stuff, ALL of the Blood of Heroes Stuff and even a few of the later V&V stuff - like Pre-Emptive Strike- really turned me away with the bad art).

Yea, it really comes down to preference sometimes; P-ES wasn't a favorite for me either. I've had fantasies about redrawing some of what I see, but then, whose to say mine wouldn't possibly turn off someone out there who doesn't care for my style?
Hopefully I don't let you all down.

You're art style is fantastic, AK. I'm really looking forward to your work. I am totally psyched to meet Serenade and Enter the Gene Pool because of the illustration samples you posted.

I really liked what I saw too, AK!

I liked it so much I tried to Google your art to see more of it!    :)

There are a lot of people with your name, though, that have been famous artists, and I was pretty sure you weren't the one born in 1927 (who now lives in France) or the famous one that was killed during the massacre at Virginia Tech.    :o
