Body Power: Damage Resistance: The character is particularly resistant to a particular type of damage (heat, kinetic energy, piercing, etc.), and only takes 1/2 damage from them.

I figure it'd help simulate guys that just seem to soak up certain types of damage. You can hurt them, but you have to pound on them all day to wear them down.

It's been ages so excuse my ignorance Smiley Doesn't Champions have a power like this. I'm wondering if it doesn't have a different "power level" in V&V versus Champions Undecided

Yep, there's a power called Damage Reduction. The character picks a particular type of damage, and it's reduced by either 25, 50, or 75%.

I was thinking of an Invulerablity varient.   The character is simply immune to ONE type of attack.

The player picks ONE thing and one thing only and no matter what, that can't hurt him.

I've got that listed under one of my Body Power options. Body Power: Immunity: The character is completely immune to one particular type of damage. It should be listed in the New Powers PDF I sent you.

Actually, IMO, no. The character could still be affected by heat, cold, electricity, acid, etc. etc.

Really Shocked But he's immune to bullets, fist, large buildings etc.   Or am I reading to much into  kinetic energy? Smiley

damn, thought I had a good example of potential abuse there Wink

Yes he can bounce bullets off his chest, but you could still freeze him, burn him to a crisp, gas him, paralyze him, etc. It'd be limited to one particular type of damage to prevent it from being abused.

HTH is one of the more common attack types, but there's still a LOT of other attack forms that could hurt such a person.

How would you view Vibratory Powers?  I've always viewed that power as being kinetic damage.

Personally, it would depend on how they were used. If used as a long range energy attack, I say the character would be immune, but if I the attacker was in physical contact, and stated something along the lines of "I'm using my powers to vibrate his internal organs" I'd say they were good to go (not to mention throwing in a little XP bonus for thinking outside the box).

I was just curious.  One of the first PCs in the Guardians was a character called Spectre.  In addition to Non-Corporealness, he had Vibratory Powers and Solid Energy Illusions.  For the type of energy he was able to manipulate, the player came up with "Kinetic Energy", and the closest thing I thought that approximated that in V&V was Vibratory Powers.

I'd say vibratory attacks fall under kinetic, vibrating something is moving it after all.
