While effecting repairs to the Cosmic Warrior's omni wave netting, Marshal Strong burst in announcing that the Movians have found the missing Gilgamesh space ship.   They assembled a team of The Cosmic Warrior, Col. Strong, Modi, Elusion and new CHESS rook Eric Palond. 
    Palond is the son of world renowned engineer Thomas Palond, who is currently missing.   Palond accepted his father's vacant postion at Manning Enterprises as Philip Manning's cheif of technology.   CHESS recruited him as a rook and he is currently acting as an informant for Manning's suspicious activities.
   Palond has developed a photon based armor that he is currently feild testing.  He calls it Glare.  While on missions for CHESS he opts to use the codename Glare to keep his identity secret from his employer.
   The team takes the recently retrofitted Squid One,  the Illithid Unique's personal hypercraft out beyond the Kuiper Belt to rescue the crew of the Gilgamesh.
   The flight goes smoothly until the Gilgamesh is within eyesight, then some small metallic spider  robots attack the Squid One.
   The Cosmic Warrior phases through the ship's hull and blasts one of the spiderdrones to pieces, while Elusion animates the robot's skin and causes it to attack the other.   
   They then pilot the ship and latch on to the Gilgamesh's airlock door.  THey make a seal and  go in.
   They are greeted by two crew members,  Ingrid Donsdottar, and Karl Denkos.   Both of whom are walking on the walls, seemingly supported by personal gravity feilds, and are also stark naked.
   They greet them friendly but a bit coldly.   Col. Strong, with his enhanced eyesight, notices that their pupils are oval shaped.    They parlay, and the two crewmembers insist that the rescue party go to sleep and "become perfect."
   Taking becomes circular, and after finding that all the crew have "become perfect" and they are going to return to Earth to share perfection with everyone, they rescues decide its time for violence.
   Strong smashes Karl in the jaw, sending Karl flying into the hull.   His jaw detaches and he bleeds a clear ichor instead of blood.    Suspiscions are confirmed and the group then attacks.
   Ingrid is attacked by Glare and  Modi while Cosmic Warrior and Marshal Strong  team up against Karl.  Elusion takes this time to down load the Gilgamesh's memory banks to the Squid One.    Elusion mishandles the computer and blows out some memory cards.
   Karl and Ingrid are suprisingly strong, but not particularly skilled in hand to hand combat.   Ingrid hits Modi with enough force to by pass his invuleralbity.   Karl smashes  Marshal Strong hard enough to send him flying.    The Cosmic Warrior's vibrodefence seems good enough to phase Karl's fists.
   Glare blinds Ingrid with a photon burst, and Modi screams and defeans her.   This makes her flail about missing everyone.   The few times she does connect, is devastating.   Modi shouts at her, and shatters her arm,  showing the titanium bones and plastic veins underneath.   She is bleeding clear ichor profusely now.
    Elusion animates the hull behind Karl and turns it semi liquid and pushes him out of the craft.   The Cosmic Warrior phases through the hull after him.   Karl opens his mouth and fires a powerblast at him hitting Wally in the head, forceing him back into the ship where he hits his head and it stuns him.
   Modi, trading blows with Ingrid, is assisted by Glare who mananges to slice her with a photon beam.   Elusions tries his trick again and sends Ingrid out into deep space.
    Elusion then goes to repair the computers of the Squid One, and Marshal Strong goes exploring the rest of the Gilgamesh.
   The Cosmic Warrior uses the Power Cosmic to read the slumbering crew members in cryosleep.   He confirmes that they have all acheived "perfection" and that something is downloading information into their sleeping minds.    He telepathicly relays this information. 
   Glare uses this off time to recharge his armor's batteries, while Elusion then downloads the memory banks of the computer to the repaired Squid One.
    Strong opens a hatch door and finds a chamber with corpses strewn about haphazzardly about.   In the room he finds a hideous alien feeding on the decaying bodies.    Horrified he slams the door shut and orders everyone to the Squid One.
   They set the Gilgamesh on self destruct and then fly away.   Elusion sets the coordinates and they hyperfly back to Earth.
 


Mission Debriefing:
   The memory downloaded is the personal log of Gilgamesh Captain Vance Tanis.   He was to be the only one awake to save on food and atmosphere.    He said that something attacked the ship, and the crew looked like they were dreaming fittfully.  That was his final entry.  Ship board automatic cameras picked up the following.
    His sleep pod was ripped out and he was sucked out from the decompression.   Spider like drones repaird the ship.  One by one the crew members were taken out of their pods by the spiders.  Later they were replaced by the spiders.   The pod's showed that their bodies all weighed 1000lbs when they were returned.      Karl and Ingrid were awoken when the Squid One came into scanning range.
