Lord_Inar  Slik Slander posted this...

[OOC] Guys- I'm completely lost at this point. I just got several emails flowing through my box that cover the ending events of the battle up until the meeting at the junkyard. I don't know if this is old data or what but I've not read it yet so I don't know if we are playing out the events of inbetween the meeting at the junkyard or if i am still supposed to be looking for Diesel. It may be that my email has been acting up and I'm just now getting parts of the story I was supposed to have read days ago (which would explain why I was supposed to have found Diesel beforehand).
I can change my story bit, if needed, but I need to know where we are at.

You did not post anything in the time.  Then Dom posted and Stalker, I waited to see if you would post but you must have been busy.  Then Slik Slander posted this...

Slik Slander said...

After finishing things up at the hospital in regards to the Booster and then a desperate but unsuccessful attempt to find Diesel to let him know about the other heroes he encounters, Slik goes home.
"I'm tired," Slik mumbles to himself as he checks his messages...
"On call worker, hmm... that could be good or bad. On call good as I will know what is going on, bad that I might be in need to get in the midst of the action.... unless the action occurs before I go on call... Ugg, less sleep. But its a good opportunity."
Slik gets his sleep in, pulls a few days at the office, gets extra long afternoon naps, and then heads out the third evening into the city, hoping that he can find Diesel or at least Thunderbolt or Stalker.

THIS is what advanced the time.  So in reply I posted this...

Thunderbolt said...

Thunderbolt waits about two hours at the Junk-yard. When no one returns he sighs, "I wonder if 'The Marksman' ever had this much trouble organizing a team. A bad team denotes bad leadership... what's that say about me?"

[Yes. 'The Marksman is a reference to the Old Champion's comic! LOLS!]

Thunderbolt takes flight... but not before emitting a disruptive shifting magnetic field and filling the air with electric static in several dual powerful bursts to disable disrupt and scramble any particular pattern of his ambient magnetic field. His hopes are to disable any bug tracer or traceable energy pattern his powers might emit. He files straight up for about a mile before throwing himself in a random direction and falling several miles distant from the junkyard catching himself about 100 feet before impact with his flight power to head home. All measures to cover and break any means of tracking his flight path.

Thunderbolt will hold onto the three cell-phones hoping he can at some point get his... un-team members to take them so some communication can be established between each other.

So we basically all missed each other.

I thought that was retconned as of Slik's May 6 post:

"...if we can meet at a mutual spot in the city, I think we might be able to track down Thunderbolt at least. I've got a feeling that he might be hanging around an old junkyard at times."

It seems like he didn't meet you at the junkyard yet.

No.  I received no PM's from him indicating to do so.  I was just as disappointed when he posted that Slik did not return to the Junkyard... I was waiting to give him a means to contact TB.  {Sigh} "Of mice and Men."

Here is a suggestion to move it along.  Your current post could be taken in this light - you drive to the Junkyard where we RONIN met and find, indeed, TB is not there.  Its evening... you guys said you would meet at 8PM.  Slik was hoping but it doesn't pan out.

{Reason TB unlike Slik or Stalker is actively being hunted by minions of Mr. Lionette... not just Anvil, Haywire and Razor so he must be careful and only goes to meeting he knows are definitely safe... he has family to protect.  So repeatedly making an appearance at a location eventually will get him tailed something he does not want.}

So Diesel and Slik talk about what to do to meet up with TB but come to no real conclusion ...at the moment then both go home.  You will need to post this interaction all in your next posts {I REALLY HOPE Davew / Slik Slander READS this post! Smiley}

Then I will post TB's attempt at City-wide Cell-phone Text / E-mail Spamming in MY next post.

This will be the message...

[This is THUNDERBOLT, calling out to Slik Slander, Diesel and Stalker.  Need to meet at the 'Yard' where we first met to talk.]

This is cryptic enough that no one else will know what 'yard' TB is talking about.  No one but Slik Slander and Stalker were told the location or could know it from the second to last post I made in "One Night in Esctacy" that gave them Both that location to meet the following night at 9PM.  Which I started in "A Gathering of Warriors".

The we can get our meeting back on track, and finally decide how to approach the Asteroid fall.  Hopefully. Smiley

I'm glad you enjoy my ...meanderings.

I think I have a reasonable means to justify Thunderbolt making an appearance.  And I get to post a scene I've been hoping to get the chance to post for some time.  Thunderbolt/Shawn at work! Smiley

Rampart IC: sort of ... some time in the future (lol):

an HQ  Cool
I know Machinist has something in the works with BSI and TB is trying to do stuff on the cheap, but a real HQ is my suggestion.

This group or non-group of heroes could use (needs) a charter with the city so as to have access to resources and materials without constantly breaking laws. Authorized lines of communication to the Office of Emergency Management, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Port Authority, etc would be invaluable tools to aiding the city when it needed help.

I understand from the Sources (Book) it is the President's Directive to aid those who have stepped into the breach during the Guardians disappearance, but as Benjamin Franklin said “God helps those who help themselves.”

... and an airplane . . . a really fast one. I know a good pilot  Wink

Thunderbolt IC: ...also sort of in the near future Smiley

Well, some official status as a crime-fighter/emergency threat specialist as a 'deputized' law-enforcer with a charter to opperate in an official capacity would be what we need.  It would also be nice to be allowed to have our super IDs registered 'so to speak' so such minor things like my gun being licensed to my super Id so that our secret id's are protected.

I mean I only started building my own HQ's cause there seemed to be no heroes stepping up the the bat to replace the Guardians.  I  figured without official status I'd simply have to work with what I could cobble together on my own.

You know I'd even be willing to reveal my id to public records IF my family were put into Witness protection!

...I'd also LOVE to get training as a pilot!

Just going to wait and see if/how we all meet or get together so far it's been hit or miss. But it makes sense for the characters we are playing we will have to develop trust in game

Good, because I know someone who wouldn't mind a hand catching up on the all the technological innovations in aviation that have taken place in the past twenty-five years.

I'm thinking we might work a on way trying to gain an edge against aerial combatants using our piloting skills. It's one more reason to start a hero version of the USAF Fighters Weapon School   Wink

Sounds like a good idea to me. Just don't make me listen to the theme from Top Gun. Cheesy

I know that Thunderbolt would be all for aerial combat training... that is really difficult to learn on your own you really need partners who can also fly.

Top Gun? Yeah ... those Navy pukes got a couple guys that can handle themselves, but you want a 'professional' combat pilot you call the U.S. Air Force.  Wink

Actually if I'm not mistaken your average Nationl Guard pilot logs more air time every year than any aviator in the Navy or Air Force.

But I was role-playing the character's response, so fact is of little consequence when pride and trash talk are in play.
