From Nothing...

After dismantling the horrors of Castle Gloom, Glare and Captain Warlock fly back to the USA.    While traveling over Jamaica Bay, Warlock sees a curious thing.

He sees four beams of light converge over the dark waters.    And from this convergence, a black hole forms.  Warlock tries to make telepathic contact with the black hole, and is nearly pulled in by the mental gravity well.  This is not JUST a black hole…

Also,   Kid Nemesis is helping with riot control by Jamaica Hospital.   He sees a beam of light fired off the roof into the bay.   He rushes to investigate.
Glare and Captain Warlock flight to one of the beams origin points.   They find a Moevian, in red and green with a black cloak, packing up a pyramidal machine.     In Moevian, the alien says, “Try if you must, but nothing can defeat nothing.   It has come from nothing and into nothing it will return.”    And with that Comet, as the heroes come to know the attacker, attacks.

Mother, Warlock’s intelligent Star Gem, whispers into his mind, “Be careful my beautiful child, we have entered an invisible, artificial cloud.”   If Warlock had a gut, it would have clenched at that information.

Kid Nemesis comes to the roof of the hospital and sees a Moevian female, also in red, green and black.  She, too, is packing up an odd shaped machine.    Kid Nemesis moves forward and tries to glean her weakness.  She reads, to him, as typical Moevian.   That doesn’t comfort him too much as the typical Moevian is bad news.

Glare scans his opponent and finds he is protected by a force field of generated neutrons.   He tries to adjust his lasers to compensate.   Warlock tries to grab hold of Comet with his telekinesis, but the neutron field makes him to slippery.

Kid Nemesis adopts a kata, turns his Wonder Glove into a frozen talon of dry ice and attacks.  The female Comet (both Moevians are called Comet, as in the sidekicks of the Moevian Sacred Alliance member, Darkfighter) and she ducks.  She returns with a swipe of a nearly invisible monofilament blade.  This cuts Kid Nemesis, and puts him into a state of shock.     His things, “I was moving too slow...” before lapses into unconsciousness.

Glare and Captain Warlock are getting frustrated.  All their attacks are easily dismissed by this Moevian.   Shield, flexible armor, micro bombs, and finally computer aided aggressive life support technology are cancelling their attacks.     The alien finally decides to leave, as Ex Nihilo, the intelligent black hole he summoned from nowhere, is growing.

“This world is forfeit.”  Says Comet as he jumps off the building into a transmatter ring and is gone.

Kid Nemesis wakes to find himself alone on the roof.  He sees flashes of light, that remind him of Glare’s light attacks.    But that is impossible as Glare died honorably in Space, fighting Moevians.    Or did he?

The Kid ponders what to do, then turns his gloves to magnesium and reproduces Glare’s, um, glare.    It works, as Captain Warlock and Glare see the flare and fly over to investigate.

They all compare notes and try to figure out what to do.

Meanwhile Ex Nihilo is growing.

They are soon joined by Peacekeeper, who is carrying an unconscious Comet in one hand, and a Moevian machine in the other.     With two of these beam emitters, Glare starts to work on a plan.    He figures out how they work, what they do and how to reverse their effect.    This is welcome news, as Ex Nihilo is growing and his tentacles of pure abysmal nothingness are about to reach the shore.    Glare says he needs one more, and off Peacekeeper goes to get the fourth emitter, the one fired from space.

Glare turns his own armor into one of the emitters and says he is ready to try something.    Captain Warlock his relieved by this information as he just took a serious hit while deflecting one of the black arms of Ex Nihilo from destroying the hospital.

Glare says that one of the emitters must be fired from WITHIN the event horizon of the sentient singularity.   This is not welcome news.    Peacekeeper, who returned moments ago with the fourth emitter, naturally volunteers.   Glare says no, and explains with his phase technology, he stands the best chance of surviving.  He planes to go into the Astral Plane, then phase the emitter from their directly into the creature.   The problem is timing.

Kid Nemesis takes one of the emitters,    Peacekeeper another, and Captain Warlock, two, controlling them with telekinesis.    Then Glare phases into action as the final emitter.    He phases and unfortunately
His timing is off.   While they do successfully transport Ex Nihilo to the Astral Plan, where it should starve,   Glare materialized in the heart of the creature and was reduced to absolute nothingness.

Glare had "died" more times than I can count! Was that a 20 roll or just a plain ol' failed attempt?

LOL love Claribell.

Well Gerry, like I always say, go hard or go home.  A good way to end your playing days with our crew before you ride off into the sunset Sad

Best of luck to you man.
