Crusaders Membership Drive

Okay, not sure why this popped into my head at Walmart, but it did. The Crusaders have decided to expand their ranks, and are sponsoring a recruitment drive. You have a chance to nominate a prospect, or two, for membership. What are your choices, and why should they grant this character, or characters, membership to their group? Post a character write-up, and a few lines on what the character would bring to the Crusaders.

I'll post my two picks (Red Wing and Microman) in a bit. They're both to really old school NPCs I worked up many moons ago. to me, they just "feel" right for the group.

I nominate Shocker. The love-struck villain reforms and now wants to work on the side of good.

I also nominate Kaya, the young magician's apprentice from Menagerie.

From what Jeff has said on various forums, Shocker becomes a member sometime after the events of the V&V mini-series. He's also depicted with them in the 2.1 rulebook.

Then my second nomination is Justice-Avenger from Opponents Unlimited. Once her Cosmic Awareness kicks into full gear, I'd like to think she figures out the Tarot Masters are up to no good and joins the Crusaders.

Where is he shown as a member in the 2.1 rules?  I didn't remember them showing him, but thought perhaps he might be in the picture of the Crusaders on p.50.  But I don't see him anywhere.

I'm not going to throw in any suggestions but one thing I always found odd was that they never had a "Strong Guy" in the group

Someone  to face off against Bull

I liked that V&V often strayed away from stock character tropes, like having to have a strong person in every team.

The original X-Men, for instance, didn't have a strong person (save, Beast, who was about as strong as a gorilla).

Most Wanted Vol. II mentions a now-deceased hero called Masher with Heightened Strength and Endurance. I propose a new Masher as a candidate for the Crushers who could survive a few rounds against Bull.

MASHER II
Name: Marie Erwin
Sex: Female
Side: Good
Level: 1
Training: HTH Accuracy

Power:
1. Heightened Strength B: +25
2. Heightened Endurance B (x2): +42

Weight: 160 lbs.
Basic Hits: 4
Strength: 41
Endurance: 54
Agility: 12
Intelligence: 10
Hit Mod: (6)(7)(1.3)(1) = 54.6
Hits: 218
Power: 118
Carry: 5946 lbs.
HTH Damage: 2d8
Accuracy: +1
Damage: +1

Origin & Background: After her husband (the original Masher) died at the hands of the evil Headhunter, Marie recreated the pharmaceutical experiment that gave him powers.

I'll bite.

First is the brick. I always suspected they didn't make a brick because a player might well fill that gap... BUT if I had to choose ... Here are the most likely candidates.

1st pick- Best pick in my opinion:

From T4
TOMAHAWK: he brings a much needed minority presence to the team, he is very tough and has some boss abilities, has a great background and would function well in mystic related adventures, as well he could go toe to toe with Bull.

From MW1
2nd pick -
BEEKEEPER: former guard for Manning Enterprises, where he got the suit, though he would have to be reformed, his dignity is his weakness, if he could be convinced that he could be greater than his former boxing and acting career. He could prove a very tough member and can lift a 1 ton.
He brings an international and minority flare to the team like Tomahawk.

From A
ANTAEUS: a growing brick and Syn-Tech guard. He can press 3 1/2 tons is both mildly invulnerable and physically tough, as well as a former boxer. He could be a interesting addition.

From TFH
MOLECULE MAN Agent Carter could be a sweet member.
Powerful, intelligent, nicely connected and could be used in a variety of plots. Both good or bad.
His STR In diamond for maxes out at 9 tons and he is HP upped in that form. Personally he is the one I would choose if he wasn't so dedicated about being an FBI Agent.

And finally...
From DD
MEGANAUT the alien Vegan trapped in the Probot (automated robot-probe) who is trapped on Earth, his people likely destroyed (Capellans in my campaign).
Anyhow if he becomes disinfrancised with working with CHESS... He could join the Crusaders. He is tough, strong (benches 4 1/2 tons) and is a benevolent telepathy who could stand up to Bull.

That's my suggestions.
Cases could easily be made for...

Lightning Fist, Conductor, Clamor, Fortune Teller, Dragon Master, Cinder Maid, Serena, Epsilon, Night Raven, Wonder Boy, Quebecois, Sister Indigo, Prankster, Justice-Avenger, Sirrian Dor, Ebony Angel, the original Stigmata, Trickshot, Vibron, Psistorm, Ward, Avalanche, Telecomm, Imperial, Lizard Man, the Elokian Sonora, Vortex, Fortress, Resonator and finally Lifeguard.

That's a list and a half! LOL

G7
