You know, this discussion of colors makes me think of something I posted here awhile back. Have you ever noticed (or thought about) what are the 'quintessential V&V colors"?
In my opinion, they're orange, green, and purple.
Why?
Well that's the color(s) that we see on each of the rules or boxed sets. 1st Edition had a white cover, but Villains & Vigilantes was writ large in orange, and there's a bunch of green as well. The 2nd edition boxed set is mostly orange (with a green character). Both 2.0 and 2.1 have green backgrounds, while the rulebook we've had the longest (2.0) has V&V written in orange on a green background with the main character in the pic (the villain Omni-Primus) wearing purple and green.
What I find really fascinating about that is that the primary colors are red, blue, and yellow. Each of the 'V&V colors' are the blending of two of those.
Mix red and blue and you get purple.
Mix blue and yellow and you get green.
Mix red and yellow and you get orange.
So the 'V&V colors' are each one shift away from the primary colors.
Which sort of fits V&V, in a weird way. It's always been a little different, but still really cool.
