Keep in mind that none of the players named their characters yet.   I am taking liberties with their names until they do.

The pods opened too early.  It was cold.  It was dark, and they were hungry.     According to the plans, the medics, and Knights, were supposed to greet them.   And one was missing?  Where was Larry?    Arc Fighter somehow knew he could select the correct electrical impulses to turn on the computers.   But when they turned on, all he got was a scary droning.  “10100101?”  What the hell was that?

He turned them off.

But now it was dark.

They knew there was were emergency cache’s in all these underground labs.   They searched until they found one.  But with the power off, they couldn’t open it.  Arc Fighter again opened the electronic lock with the correct impulses.

Know they had flashlights.  And guns…   The techs were all dead.   The ones that were not smothered by their own suits were somehow drowned.     In a tunnel.   In Utah…

They soon realized that they were only four.   Where was Larry?    They opened his pod and a murder of crows flew out.  Arc Fighter and Commando reacted without thinking.   They shot and downed a few birds.

They went out.    Fog Of War took the lead.  Then Golem, Commando, and then Arc Fighter.   They followed a path of water, like the tunnel was recently mopped.    They were attacked by a Straw Man.  He tried to claw out Arc Fighter’s eyes.  He was beaten down.   They continued looking, following the sounds of running water.   They knew there were no streams nearby, so this was a concern.

They saw two women in the distance, one in leather; sexy, with a whip.  The other in black and gold armor, like a roman with a red cape.   The armored woman ran up to them in a blink.  She punched Arc Fighter but he stood his ground.   He fired a blast of Chi at her and knocked her down.  She ran circles around them but Fog of War pressed his dark cloud together until the pressure caused a low frequency burst.  As Fury hit Arc Fighter,   her hand exploded from the pressure of the sound wave.

Fog of War just smiled.

Fury kneeled on the ground watching her wrist bleed.  She didn’t even notice when Commando fired three shots into her.

This enraged Back Lash.  She run up and cracked her whip.  Arc Fighter threw multiple chi blasts at her, and she reflected one back at him.   He was blasted back onto his ass.

Fog of War tried his pressure attack again.  It was sent back to him.   He tried to think of something new.

Golem was about to try his stony might against her leather armor, when Straw Man jumped on his back again.  He was more of a pest than an actual danger, but still you try to fight when someone is sticking their fingers up your nose and into your ears!

He ran backwards into the wall, Straw Man just giggled.  And scratched.

Fog of War then blasted the ceiling.   Stones fell on Back Lash, and the team then saw she was surrounded by a force field.     Time to change tactics.

Commando rushed up and put her in a head lock.  She seemed taken back by this and pushed him off with an expansion of her force field.     Arc Fighter then fired a lightning bolt at Straw Man.  It set him on fire and he ran screaming.   Commando gave him a leg swipe and his leg shattered.  Straw Man then cartwheeled into a spray of flaming twigs.

This left the group to deal with Back Lash.   They all stood their ground eyeing each other.  She ran to her friend, Fury, and put a force field over her stump.  She checked for a pulse.  There was a weak one, but with a pulse, there is hope.

Commando went ahead. He saw three more costumed people.  One a giant wave of water, one a guy in yellow and green wearing what looked like a kooky HAWK suit.  And the other was vibrating too fast to get any good description.  He was trying to shatter a vault door.

So that was their plan.  Use the black out as a cover for their break in.

The door broke open.

What?  This isn’t a vault, it’s a morgue.   What the hell is going on here?

And what was with the crows?

Fog of War created a pea soup thick fog and covered Crimewave in darkness.  The giant water elemental confused and missed smashing into his target, Commando.

Golem stepped up and slapped Crimewave.  Punching water didn't seem to have a great effect.   Commando fired a few rounds at Skyjack.   His accuracy was deadly accurate, and Skyjack fell, bleeding to the ground.   Fog of War misdirected the vibroblast from Tremor back into Crimewave.  That seemed to be pretty effective.

Commando rolled into action and sprang up firing four rounds rapid with pin point accuracy into Tremor.  It seems his vibrations seemed to deflect most of the kinetic energy of the bullets, but he was harmed.  He fell back into the fault.

Commando stepped forward, eager to deliver the coup de grace, when he was set upon by a murder of crows!

The crows had sharp beaks that pecked at his eyes and even sharper talons that ripped at his body.

Golem fired his blasts at Crimewave, stunning him, forcing him to revert to his human form.

Tremor fired blindly into the fog, only to have his own blast returned to him.     Commando fired, and hit, each crow attacking him, dropping them into piles of meat and bloody feathers.

Golem turned to tell Arc Fighter that all was well and he could come with them into the vault when he noticed something was odd.  Arc Fighter was talking back to the electronic hum of the 10010101 that was ever present.

Arc Fighter said it was glorious.  Beautiful, an electronic god.   He fired a lighting blast into Golem.   Golem was not pleased.

"We don't have time for this."  Said Commando as he fired at Arc Fighter, hitting him from point blank range.    The bullets sparked as they struck his body.   Fog of War released some of Tremors vibroblasts, killing Arc Fighter.

The remaining crows formed into a half human half crow like being.    He called himself Murder and that he was their missing CHESS agent.   He pledged loyalty to the Octopus and dispersed into a hoard of crows, each attacking the heroes.

Commando fired and killed most of the crows.   One flew off, too fast to catch.

Fog of War noticed Tremor was opening a drawer.  Inside was the body of Deacon Hammer, preserved in Amber.   He was pulling the body off the shelf when Golem punched him out.

Skyjack, still bloody said that the Six Fingered Hand would pay them handsomely for that body.    Commando punched him in the face.

After a while the lights came back on, and the caterwauling noise came to an end.

This begs the questions; what is the Six Fingered Hand, and what do they want with the body of Deacon Hammer?

After Black January, things started to calm back down.   Fog of War, Commando and Golem had no luck investigating where Murder had gone.

A CHESS pawn, a non chess agent paid to report to CHESS,  submitted a picture of Murder in his human form going into a non descript building in San Diego.

This building had been under surveillance for a while as per orders from Sally Nile. It was  small brick shop with a small sign that read Recorperations.

They arrived a few hours, CHESS Angel Betty Noir in charge.  She went around back while Golem, Commando and Fog of War went in the front door.

The place was a small, foul smelling two bedroom house, with no lights.  Two elderly men pounced.  They were stiff, but strong, and were the source of the foul stench.   The living room area was littered with shelves of various bottles, vials,  boxes, and jars.   They hit hard and it surprised the trio.

Fog of War summoned his fog. Commando took careful aim while Golem opened up a bottle that held what looked like a tiny naked man.   The man came out and ran and started stabbing him in the ankle with a pin.

When the fight cleared,  they searched.  They found the refrigderator full of horrid bottles of blood, organs and the like.  THey also found the back yard was a greenhouse full of exotic plants.   Betty Noir was there and said she was looking for a pair of eyes that was looking at her from under one of the tables.

Golem saw the eyes and he heard a voice that said don't look for me or I will have to kill you.   For some reason he heeded that voice...

Commando  found a trap door under a throw rug.  They opened it and he ran down into total darkness.

Something attacked him, and he shot at it.  Fog of War was not sure, but he think he heard the sounds of wings flying out.  Neighbors report seeing a bunch of crows flying out and away.

When Commando fought off what ever he was fighting,  Golem came down with a flash light.   The room was a hideously perfect Dr. Frankenstein lab.  Full  with body parts hanging from hooks,  blood in basins, a full on pentagram on the floor made of gold and sliver,  an iron maiden, and stacks of books, letters and again, boxes and vials.

Upon further investigation  some of the letters mention that  the body of Deacon Hammer must be obtained and his brain revived.  It must be revealed what the dreaded Zazael imparted upon him.

And the current host of Zazael must be impaled with wise wood, to lock the spirit in flesh and the flesh must then be burnt to murder the spirt.

The True Location Of Hell must Never Be Revealed.

So Speaks The Six Fingered Hand
