It's still up an running. Specific replies will go to the blog. Overviews of gaming sessions will go here, as well as general campaign info, and entries to the "Source Book".

Now that things have settled down a bit, I can actually get back to posting info to this section. The plan is for me to get caught up on the stuff I'd been working on, get the game back on track (as we were just starting to move along at a good pace), and then continue to work on the background.
If any of you guys (ladies?) have questions, or comments, feel free to post them. If it's about a specific character, I'm sure the players wouldn't mind answering your questions.

I would like to ask how the mechanics of this is going?   I never did play by email so I am curious.

Does everyone feel satisified with this type of play?   Is there a level of tension, suspence?   Do you do one action a week? Or a whole "scene"?   Forgive me if I am asking questions that have been already answered.

Well I'm sure everyone involved would love to get together for a real life game, but do to distance, time, and work schedules, we have to be satisfied with this. As far as satisfaction goes, I'll let the others chime in as they see fit.

For me, I've been a little frustrated that I can't spend as much time as I'd like to, as I'd like to get a least one regular turn in every couple of days (swing over to the blog to see how things have been going), but the goal is to tun a full adventure every couple of months. How that'll actually work out is yet to be seen.

Mechanics wise, I'm not sweating thing like power usage and movement, unless there's actual combat involved. At the moment, I'm concentrating on moving the plotline along, and getting these guys together. Once I have specific need to start tracking HP, Power, movement, etc. I'll list their current status, and track it on a spreadsheet, so everyone's on the same sheet of music. I'll also handle things like rolls to hit, etc (I've got a dice rolling program to take care of that for me). I hope that answers your questions.

So you do something on the order of one full V&V turn per two or three days?   And how many emails would that one turn require on average?

It varies, depending on the number of actions each player is trying to perform, any questions they have, and the actions of NPCs involved. It can get a little hectic. My hat's off to Dr. Foom, as he's currently got 8 players, several NPCs, and full on villain team, and he's been doing this for years.

I am loving it.

I get to spend anywhere from 2 hours to a day or two to respond (no combat yet).  I am getting a lot of roleplaying and skill usage.  I have used my powers a few times as well.

For me, it is great.  My family schedule doesn't allow me to make to commit to a set day of the week or every other week.

This is perfect for me.

V&V character creation is too much fun.

It is in the email or blog posting. - All Players can read each others input to the GM.

Here is Player writing about contacting another Player

The Machinist to Silver Star using his COM:  "Silver Suit can you fly?  I have found 2 unconscious people on above the fire in the building.  Can you get to them?

Player informing the GM how he wants to contact a Player

SilverStar waves to Jack Frost, "Hey! I need your help!".

When Jack gets close, Marcus will explain quickly, "Looks like there are people unconscious on top of the building, Bring me up there. I'm Silver Star"

or Player writing actions to GM including possible conversations.
Jack Frost flew down to the White Knight. "I'm Jack," he said as he grabbed Silver Star's wrist and rode the north wind straight up to the top of the flaming iron spire! ZOOOM!
He'll wave greetings to Power Chord if he sees him, but can't carry two people.
Nor can the antiquated elemental hear the technological entreaties of the Machinist.

So far the different methods are working fine.

I usually reply to all on the emails, unless I have OOC questions/real life stuff.  I've connected with most of the other players in that manner, and feel we're connecting very well.

It has been a lot of fun, and brought a lot of the old excitement back, coming up with a character concept that not only worked, but worked with this team, developing the background/character/group.

I think we've got a solid base, let the adventures begin...

OK gents, I've been sick for the last few days (including a trip to the hospital emergency room), but I'm back up and running (or at least up and moving around), and I'll be updating the blog and everyone's status.

Yeah, I ended up taking close to 3 liters of IV solution (two 500ml bags while being transported to the ER), and 2 liters of Lactated Rings in the ER), so lets just say I've had better days.

But on to the fun stuff. I should have the updates and email replies posted by lunch time, and I'd like to get everyone's replies by the weekend.

New GM replies are posted. Also, I encourage to you to have some IC discussion amongst yourselves, especially about Commander Dunham, and his attitude toward your activities, as he's going to be a person you guys will encounter quite frequently.  Wink
