The cover art is a good teaser, sort of in the style of the Icons book.

This is really off thread topic: AK who is the character in your avatar? I like the black and silver color scheme and he just looks really cool. I'm even inspired to make a character out of the image lol

He is Whitemane, the Alabaster Knight... and will be making his appearance in the upcoming production, "Under Lock and Key".

If you are referring to the "Public Enemies Volume 1" book, then yes a decision was made to go for a more animated style in the end.

This was done solely for speed purposes Smiley

I heard Into The Sub Realm is finally going to be published. Perhaps Most Wanted Vol 2 will see the light of day.

ITSR is in fact reaching its pub date. As for Most Wanted Two, that is a wrangled mess... it's been covered on this forum before.

FGU doesn't want to publish the art without the true manuscript; I can't say I blame them. They have had the art *paid for* and sitting for years. Jeff never sent the final manuscript to go with it, so it has been sitting.

In the interest of all the people looking for a MW2, I asked to get it finished somehow, but without Jeff, it likely won't happen... a real shame. Jeff is too hurt, angry, bitter, fill-in-the-blank, whatever to ever agree.

In the long run, anything FGU has paid for is coming to print, one way or another.

What's in the pipeline? With all do respect to the material published in the 1980s, my friends and I have used, and re-used, and revamped, and unvamped it over and over and over.

If I never hear the word Crusaders or Dr. Apocalypse or Force again in the game, it will be too soon. Not because I don't love them but because they've given, and given me all they can give.

Any new releases would be a godsend. Yes, even if they were first drawn or written from the 1980s and shelved for whoknowswhy. Anything I haven't already seen before, and used, and reused would be a miracle. I've heard that V&V is in a Renaissance.

Please, tell me what's coming next. We've been in the Dark Ages or Purgatory for too long!

Susan, go to the FGU website and get your hands on Citizen Report and Enter The Gene Pool... FGU is posting the latest news again.

After ITSR, there's Danger In The Depths 1 and 2, another James Satter adventure (longer than Gene Pool), The Poseidon Line (I'll explain that one later), (not sure of title) a Vigilante/Ally Campaign book with some mini-adventures in it (can also be used as Villains, of course), and if everything is still swinging well, a campaign book/adventure that is like a Most Wanted with a major adventure combined into it.

That's the foreseeable pipeline at FGU that I know of...
What MHG has going I don't know.

Nice cover art on all acounts: http://www.fantasygamesunlimited.net/page3.html

It looks like Aftermath is back too. I never played it, but we used to joke about in school, telling our teacher that after math was an "aftermath"--as the word suggests that a "math" is something bad.

I actually didn't mind math class. It was just a way to give our teacher a hard time. Kids!  Smiley

Hey, I saw that something called "The Hero Within" will be part of the V and V Giant #1. Does anyone know what "The Hero Within" is? Can I order it separately? Does it have a cover or art?

Hi Susan.
The Hero Within is a six page Mini-Adventure that is being donated to the fanzine project that is being discussed in the forums currently.
However, because folks like to have a printed version as well as a PDF download, I wrote an extended section for the printing that will occur in the Giant.
(I did this for two reasons:)
The first is a technical issue: The print signature called for page counts divisible of sixteen and six wasn't enough to reach the next signature and make it profitable.
The better of the two reasons: I figure the fans who acquire the fanzine and then commit to buying a printed product have really gone the extra mile; it would benefit by having an extended version in which I added/packed something special to honor that commitment.

AK, any idea when the Giant is going to be ready for release, as I've got the PDFs but I still like having hard copies of books. Also, any chance the FGU will offer POD versions of the individual books? And I'm itching to see what MHG has got lined up too.

The Giant has gone to print and will be released shortly; the individual books I'm not sure what the answer is; It has been alluded to that POD may be a possibility a little later on.

When will Into the Depths be released? Is it two separate adventures or one adventure that has two parts?

From what I understand, and I'm sure AK will correct me if I'm wrong, it's one large adventure, that will be released in two separate parts.

The manuscript for Danger in the depths was about 110 pages, that usually translates to about half the pages once formatted into an adventure; the author (Ken Cliffe) also wrote it in two parts, so in keeping with adventure length norms and the author's intent, we're breaking it in two as intended.
As far as time between release, I would imagine (not written in stone yet) that they'd be released within a week of each other, if not at the same time, since I'm working both at once.
Soon!

About when will they be out? If you're not sure, that's okay. I was just wondering if was going to be next month or maybe the end of the year or sometime in 2011. You get my drift.

AK, I'm jsut echoing Troy's question, any idea of when the first part of Danger in the Depths will be ready? I don't hink anyone expects a specific date, but will int be within the next month or so? Also, mind if I post the preview images, you've got up, on a couple of other sites?

I'm coloring some things and making some final adjustments to the art package. Real life has taken some liberties on my time (grrrrr bummer), but movingg toward trying to finish and at least release PDFs by end of this month.

As far as preview materials for it, sure if it's already seen light elsewhere, here shouldn't be any different.

Thanks.

OK, lets see if I'm missing anything.

MHG has at least two unnamed projects in the works (I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a CHESS source book, at some point). There's also the possibility that Stefan Jones has one in the works for them (Stefan you on here?).

FGU has Danger in the Depths 1 & 2, as well as at least one (possibly two) books from Ken Cliffe. James Satter has turned in the manuscript for another adventure.

AK's working on at least one adventure.

And from what I understand FGU still has several older manuscripts in hand, as well as artwork for a couple of other adventures.

Then there's AslanC's villain book, Public Enemies Volume 1. I think that covers it, or did I miss anything?

I'm looking into doing some stuff for a few other super hero rpgs, and might also do something for V&V if I actually get things started. I've got someone working on a company logo for me, and I've got a trio or artists I've start commissioning art from (I've mentioned them all in the artist thread on one of the other forums here). I'm a slow worker, so until I get something more detailed, it's all up in the air right now

Actually all of the stuff released so far has been pretty reasonably priced. Especially compared to some of the hardcover books from some of the larger companies.

OK, now that AK has released the name of the next adventure, here's the updated list.

FGU

Danger in the Depths 1&2
Escape from the Micro-Universe
Ken Cliffe's vigilante book
The Possidon Line

MHG

Bill Willingham's unamed project
Jack Herman's Project
A possible project by Stefan Jones
Jeff's confirmed that they plan on converting Blood Ties at some point.

And both Ken Cliffe and Dr. Dedman have expressed interest in possibly doing some new materials. Have I missed anything?

Yes, you missed my project.  I am making a Most Desirable Vol 1.  Its the first five years of PLayboy Centerfolds convered into V&V stats.  And the best part is, I convinced Steve Ditko to come out of retirement to do the art!

More than a few have stats of 38!
