SF, I've got a request for you. I can't remember the exact episode, but there was one where Apache Chief fights several other members of his tribe. Each one had a different power, think you could point me in the right direction?

I've seen all of the Super Friends episodes from the 1970s and from 1983. Apache Chief faces some Native American evil spirits, but I don't recall him facing several members of his tribe. It might have happened in a later episde (after my time).

Here are two links that might help you out:

Full stats for Robin and Batman are now on the site. These representations show them during the 1977 to early 1980s episodes on the Super Friends. There's a new poll on the site too!

I could be wrong about the guys being members of his tribe, as it's been over 25 years since I've seen the episode, but for some reason, that particular show it stuck in my head. And thanks for the links, I'll dig through them later tonight.

Two of the later episodes featured villains from the Phantom Zone with super powers. They might be the ones you remembered seeing as well.

Nope, I distinctly remember them being some sort of Native American shamans. IIRC, one was a shape changer.

I just added Lex Luther: http://superfriendstats.blogspot.com/

With Luther and some of the other villains, I'm including only their default devices--ones they used at least 2 episodes. With Toyman it will be Dimension Travel. With Brainiac it will be Animated Servants.

Luther sometimes has Flight boots and often carries some type of Laser or Laser Canon. I kept the exact effects ambiguous because they varied--but the end result was that the heroes were trapped or weakned somehow when hit.

Grodd's inventions don't follow a pattern so his write-up didn't include devices.

After translating most of the Super Friends at http://superfriendstats.blogspot.com/ --and having a good idea what the remaining heroes' powers will be--I realized that it is possible to develop a Super Friends character generation template.

This template works only for heroes, not villains.

Weight
Female: roll 1d4 +10. Multiply the results by 10. Weight range is 110-140 lbs.

Male: roll 2d4 +14. Multiply the results by 10. Weight range is 160-220 lbs.

SEAIC: roll 6d6, then add the three highest scores. The average starting ability is 15.

Powers
Each character gets the standard number of powers: 1d6 powers + 2 powers + 1 weakness.

After rolling the first three power options from any of the standard charts (powers, devices, magic items, psionics, skills), roll any additional power options from the chart below.

1. Body Power
2. Heightened Expertise
3. Heightened Senses
4. Independence from Atmosphere
5. Natural Weaponry (inverted): roll 1d6:
    1-3 (+1 to hit, +2 damage)
    4-5 (+2 to hit, +4 damage)
    6 (+3 to hit, +6 damage)

6. Special Weapon
7. Speed Bonus
8. Vehicle

Once all powers and weaknesses are rolled, drop 1 power, or drop 2 powers and the weakness (per standard rules).

If you want to try rolling up a random hero, feel free to post your results!

At http://superfriendstats.blogspot.com/ I posted Green Arrow and the Hawkcouple (who are much less powerful on the Super friends than anywhere else).

A handful of villains are on the site, but I may just let them slide.

The rest of the Legion of Doom falls into three categories:

1. Their powers basically mirror one of the Super Friends, just w/different stats: Bizarro, Sinestro, and Giganta (except that she sometimes appears extra bulky-strong at standard height).

2. They are super smart, like Lex Luther: Toyman and Brainaic. I could write up their stats, but it's starting to feel too much like a chore. Visually, I like both characters though. I realize he's a cartoon, but Brainiac had the best legs on a show full of people who all went around w/out wearing any pants: Samurai, Robin, Apache Chief, and sometimes Black Vulcan. Not to mention Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl. I liked this version of Toyman better than the standard version in the comics as well.

3. They have no discernable or consistent powers on the show: Riddler used explosives and disguise equipment in the Filmation episodes, but not on Super Friends. The fact that he feels compelled to leave behind riddles that coax heroes to follow his plans into a trap now and then just doesn't work very well in V&V. Scarecrow, meanwhile, controlled a flock of crows in one episode--and sometimes used other weapons/devices (just like all the other villains), but didn't have powers of his own on the show. Fear gas was not one of his powers. I can't tell if the animated character from the Legion of Doom episodes was supposed to be living straw. He sure seemed that way!

Finally, I've been trying to wrap my head around Mr. Mxyzptlk, but it's hard to put him into game terms. Unlike Gentleman Jim, no one even tries to hit the Fifth Dimensional imp. He essentially uses transmutation and solid energy creations, teleports and turns invisible, and sometimes sends heroes to other dimensions, until they trick him into saying his name backward. Becuase Mr. M. doesn't get tired or hurt, you really don't need game stats for him. Just have him do what he wants and make an intelligence save or det. hidden roll when the heroes come up w/a new way to prompt him to utter his backward-spelled name.

Chello!

I love the Luthor writeup.

As to the utility belts, you left out the bat lube. Wink

Thanks for the note about Lex Luther. I left out the Bat Lube because I only saw it used in one episdoe (so it could be a one-shot invnetion). If I spot it (or something like it) again, Ill be sure to add it.

Chello again!

Actually, that's a bit of a joke from Seanbaby's Super Friends page. He points out that it's mighty suspicious that Batman has lube. Wink

Bat's just likes to be prepared for ANY eventuality, the day they have him whip out the Bat Condoms, is the day I worry.  Shocked Cheesy
